That was impressive! The most impressive part is that took you like an hour....last year Scott spent 4 weeks working on his precious little video that he ran out of time to get his car done.

I like the way you work Dragnasty!

I'm guessing it was supposed to be a tie-in to the Hitler video cause it was overdubbed in German?
That was weak even by your standards, bud.

Anyway,I'm shocked you had time to make anything at all.....What with all your precious time spent breaking in clutches and all.

Next week's episode: Douched Up spends 5 days meticulously torquing muffler bearings

I'd like to spend more time on my reply, but I'm busy getting ready to drop this Austin Smasher into this old Ford...;)

    Next.....

I would remind you to tighten your U-bolts...but that only matters if you can make it to a track...

I will be busy working getting my old field car ready for you...

6 weeks from tomorrow my friend...

I must admit Scott the hitler video is a classic but from our here in my driveway in the rain using my abacus to see this video it looks damn good guess I'll just go back to welding some more. some of us spend all our time building race cars instead of playing with big boy toys at the dyno come on james lets get back to the shanty town garage lmao

When I grow up I want to be just like them.

I am looking for some lawns to mow. I found a timing cover I would like to buy.

Those 6 hrs on the dyno saved me 6 weeks worth of screwing around, trying to figure out what this new motor likes.
Working away from home and/or nightshift really limits my hot rod building time,so I have to make the most of it.
I'll be wasting too much time fixing 50yrs worth of hacked up wiring as it is,I don't want to add to that workload...lol

Agreed, dyno tuning is the only way to go! We are going to hit the track Friday night to play around a bit. Making sure the line lock works, do a few burnouts and a few launches and then we are off to the Chassis Dyno to get it dialed in across the board.

2 hp per cubic inch is pretty good for that old "289". Should get you in the 10's , I'll run you Sunday if you guys are hanging around that long. I don't know what my group schedule is going to be like for the other 2 days

  19. @ 2950lbs & 620 hp, a perfect pass with optimized car is 9.80 @ 137. If we knock off 5% for typical bracket car, it's 10.29 @ 130. If we knock off 10% for Helen Keller driving, it's still 10.78 @ 124.5 mph. My brother in laws '67 Fairlane F/Stocker ran 10.79 @ 124 with a 496 hp NHRA legal 390 @ 3470 lbs. If Scott doesn't go in the tens, it's cause Jeff stole his keys, and he's driving!

That was more likely from me being folded up like a lawn chair to fit in that little car...lol
I'm changing up the seating arrangement a little for this year.Going to move the seat back about 6".

It's more so I can actually fit in the damn car.lol
I have the seat jammed pretty much all the way forward, and my legs barely fit up under the wheel, and operating the clutch is awkward.
Gotta make some space, and make it fun to drive again.:)

  29. Man you guys saved my ass o_O the injection just doesn't want to fire off and the battery was getting down to the bottom of its life. Really appreciated the help! Running solo at these things will wear your ass out

Did you see the burnout when me and the Henry J lined up? Was I spinning my tires past the lights or frying my clutch?

  30. I did see one pass where it looked like the clutch was slipping when it got in the sticks part of the track. I don't remember who u were racing though.
