When we first put the blower motor on the dyno we found 100 hp with a jet change. The carbs were set up for alcohol so we dropped the jets for the first pull but it was still too fat. We dropped the jets 10 more points and went from 433 hp to 537 hp. After 4 more pulls with more RPM and tuning we ended up at 638 hp...

Kind of curious to see what it will do with the injection and alcohol

Trying to get the Plymouth to go straight! It has the stock steering box and it just feels stiff. When you go to make minor adjustments it steers stiff. Sometimes you over adjust because of it. We're probably driving this to the Meltdown and right now I don't trust it more than five-ten mile drive. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you jacked it up and check the front end for something bound up
And check the steering shaft all the way up to the steering wheel.

  7. Hey Scott, if you guys can eek out 415HP, even with a 5% oops, that's good for 11.60's-70's @ 115 mph @ 2900 lbs.
That ought to be good enough to take out the "Pottie Smoker"

    Ric,
After losing the power valves, square jetting the carbs down 3 sizes, and adding 1 more degree of timing,we jumped up to 412hp when we ran it up to 7500rpm!:)

Should be a fun time at the Meltdown!:)

  19. Just plain awesome! I have five 289's out in the garage.
I currently don't have anything to put my warmed over one in.
It's currently sitting on a stand.

As my Son would say: "The less you know, the better..."lol!

Just kidding James...I went with a 4.15" bore to unshroud the valves and let it breathe, and the polished, and whatever else they do to prepare it 2.87" 289"1M" crank to let the little guy zing up to the shift points:)
It ends up at 311",just like Jackson's Chevy motor in the Willys.

Or maybe I put that 3.40" crank in there, and it's 368"....?At my age it's hard to remember where I put things...

Has anybody seen the tv remote.....?!?!?!
