The 43'rd annual Back To The 50's is less that one month away! Who's Going, who's planning going, and what will you be driving? I will again probably be bringing my '49 Chevy pickup.

The Wife and I will be making the annual 300 mile pilgrimage across the state, driving the Merc again this year. Hard to believe it is only a month away.

We will be there with the popcorn truck again, but this year we are also running the Cruse-N-Art Craft fair building. Our 50's starts Wednesday Mourning ends Sunday Night, it can be work but it is still fun.

I wouldn't say I'm more excited to go to Registration Pick Up than the show, but I'm definitely happy we don't have to drive to the north metro to pick up our registration. Thank you MSRA for finally adding another location.

This is hands down...without a doubt...the best hot rod event on planet earth!

1st time attending, I was told that traffic is horrendous on I35 going to the north pickup spot after 2:00 or so. coming up from Omaha on I35 out of DesMoines, about a 5-6 hr drive any recommendations other than leaving early??

    911Steve, are you pre-registered?

Do you know which location (North or South) you are to pick up your registration?
I hope you chose the South pick up location (Buck Hill). It is in the south metro and you will literally drive right by it on your way into the metro area.

Which day are you arriving? Thursday?

Yes, the traffic through the twin cities metro area is very busy anytime after 2:00PM. You will start experiencing heavier traffic volumes around the Lakeville area (considered the south metro of the twin cities )when you're on I-35. Hopefully the northbound lanes won't be too busy. A lot of the traffic is actually heading south bound because people are commuting back to their homes in the south metro from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. However, it's the Twin Cities and it seems there's always traffic. The slight bummer is you have to traverse your way from the south allll the way to the north metro. The earlier you can get into town the better. As stated, the good news is you're traveling north bound. You will move along ok until you get into Minneapolis. Also, there will be a lot of other people picking up their registration at the host hotel. Traffic in that area will be heavy, but at least you'll be surrounded by hot rods.

It will all be well worth it, registration pick-up day is actually a lot of fun! You will see a ton of cars around town and at the host hotel; many of which are HAMB friendly hot rods. This show.....event...is going to blow your mind!! Almost 12,000 hot rods at the beautiful MN State Fair Grounds. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes that are made for walking/running.

unfortunately, it seems that I am going to miss. I can't remember how long it has been since that happened.

Too much going on with family and the business. But perhaps things will open up.

I am pre-registered if anybody needs credentials.

Have not missed in 24 years. My friend Chuck has not missed in 26 . Sadly he has developed Parkinsons and this will most likely be his last year. Our wives are staying home so Chuck and I will come up in his 64 Mercury Marauder with me driving. It is a whole lot easier and more comfortable than My chopped top monster. I am 61 and Chuck is 69 so it is going to be a all guy party all night weekend! Or at least till bedtime which is what 8:30 right?? lol Anyway hope everyone has a great week end!!! Larry

Just want to thank MSRA for listening and adding Buck Hill finally!!! Since they got over 2000 people to sign up for Buck Hill, hopefully they will open it up to Friday also next year for all those coming up from the south on 35 and not coming up as early as Thursday! Will be there!!
