Running a Chrysler flathead 251, 6 cylinder engine in my 1955 Fargo pickup truck.
She ain't nothing fancy, and is stock, but she is very reliable and runs quite well.
    I have a T 98 4 spd trans and a modern Moapr 8 1/4 diff with 3.23 gears.
I plan to soup her up with tri carb intake, split exhaust, shave head and mild cam grind...

My '51 Bel Air has the original 235 with just over 73,000 miles. I'm in the process of putting a t5 behind it at which time I'll probably have the head rebuilt with stainless exh. valves and have a ring job done with aluminum pistons. For the price of the head/ring job, I could buy a v8, headers and motor mounts but I love the 235 too much to lose it image.jpg

Just dropped this 1955 235 that has been bored .080 and cammed in the 50 style line deluxe this weekend. Should be all buttoned up and running by this weekend!

There's a pic of it on the run stand. Changed a few things (oil line routing and painted all brackets and intake manifold blue) but will be put together just like this in the car.

  7. Here's mine. Ford 226ci flathead six in a '50 sedan. Still not sure whether or not I want to keep it, speed parts seem to be fairly hard to find. It and the rest of the drive train are for sale if anyone's interested.

Our 5 generation "53" 235, been living 63 years in the same hole, 150 more-door sedan. Using some old Offy stuff dads had for decades & an older friend offered up a real deal "vette" side draft set up complete he's had since late 60s & it's getting revamped as I have time. Flux

How about a blown six!? Built this 261 and powered my 54 Chevy 2 door with it for many years. It ran and sounded great, but alas, I sold the car a couple of years ago. Should have kept the engine, although I still have most major items to build another.

I'm racing a 302 Jimmy in a 57 Chevy. Bored, aluminum pistons and a lumpy cam. Anyone else?

Still running the original 235 in my daily driver '51 for now. I have a '58 235 I'm going to swap in in a week or two since mine's smoking. While I'm at it, I'm throwing a t5 in too

I made them very easily from a couple of “CE” chassis engineering pieces . Sadly , I read here recently, that “CE” has closed & who knows somebody hopefully will have bought their Wonderful products They are really simple to make , I also built two more sets , one for a later “full pressure” 235 & a 292 big 6 while It was easy to get to. With a few flat pieces of steel it’s easy fab’d up. Flux

  29. The scrungy 292 in my old daily 68 stepside shortbox with Clifford intake and Q-jet. Had 6 into 2 Clifford headers and a late HEI. I used a 55 chevy 3 speed O.D. in it...ran strong and sounded great! My son changed it to a 700R4. I liked the 3 speed O.D. better.
