Projects 1934 Ford Sedan Gender Reassignment Surgery

Not too much to report on the old coupe. Just a whole bunch of sanding. I've got the first coat of muck all blocked out. Still have a few touch ups to do. Then it's prime Time.

Also i got my intake and quick change all shined up.
Generator and pumps rebuilt too.
And fly wheel machiened

Put three coats of filler prime on this weekend and blocked it all out. it's starting to shape up.

Busted ass all weekend from 9am until 3am every night. just about got it painted.

all the body work and priming is done. the frame and underside of the car is painted.

I decided to give it a coat of red oxide so that later on down the road if I get any chips or scratches it would look lagit under the paint.

This weekend coming up Iots of coats of nitrocellulose black lacquer and body and paint will be done

are you talking about finding an old chrome one? I haven't been able to find one yet. I would have thought I may have been able to. you see those old T buckets chromed up to the nines all the time, someone has to have an old chrome T spring out there somewhere.

I know you posted it before the Turlock Swap meet but When we talked, I thought you had already found one. I wish you would have told me to grab one! honestly I seen at least three different ones!
I think that was when you were in So.Cal and didn't have time to come up to the Swap meet! I was supposed to go down to see you but Sunday came way to fast! You can't see everything in two days!!!

Classic! the one year I skip Turlock and go to the gnrs the spring I need is there. lol fak

last year I walked that swap meet for 2 days and came home with a pair of headers and a flywheel. long drive for that.

ya that weekend sure flew by fast that's for sure.

I am going to be locked in my garage until I can drive my coupe out. so I won't be making it to midnight mass.

It was a long weekend working on the coupe. Was up late Friday and Saturday painting the car and all its pieces.

I did 5 coats of black lacquer on everything in and out. For the last coat I over reduced the lacquer to get it to lay out like glass.

Everything went really well considering this is my 3rd complete paint job I've ever done. The dimly lit garage with no air flow and the 75 dollar paint paint gun were no help either.

I must say the completely sealed fresh air breathing mask I borrow from a friend was a life saver literally. Thanks for that one Rosy's custom metal work.

This weekend was busy. I worked on the car for 3 days strait. I almost got all of the painting done. I was able to get my motor apart, inspected, cleaned,painted, back together and in. Also got the pedals together and in and the brake drums machined.

Bad Ass!!!! way to keep the noise to the grindstone. Keep those updates coming. I think this is one of the best build threads in a long time on HAMB.

 

I've been busy busting ass on the car every chance I get. last weekend I got my rear end together and installed. I also set some shiny bits on the motor to see what they looked like.



This weekend I got the body on and finished all my brake lines and a bunch of fiddly shit.

More work on the car this weekend.

I built a steering colum drop a while ago for it. I am not sure what it was from and it had no lock cylender. so I modified it to take my start button.

I also put in my windshield frame, header pannel, dash, steering box and colum

I spent a good chunk of the weekend on the car again. I got the engine all put together and the rad and grill put in.

I modified an organal cast aluminum oil pan to fit a 59ab and then had it polished.
