That is awesome!! Frame looks really nice. Compliments to whoever is building it for you.

  2. Sure will give me peace of mind too, no more looking the frame over as I'm tieing it down on the trailer. I'm hoping next week to get the car over there to swap the body on and start the suspension.

  3. Vito Antonoceli Race Cars is doing it, this is next to it, what he usually does. This old gasser style is far from his norm..lol 20160405_122525.jpg

Guys like that are a local treasure. So much talent and I struggle to attempt a good weld once in a while if I am lucky. Your chassis looks to be in good hands.

  7. The old "Bad Moon" is stripped down and ready to go tomorrow !

I thought hanging the front clip from the chain fall was a great way to one, get it off by myself and two, have it out of the way. It really turns out it's a great place to walk into with your head a dozen freakin times...ha ha ha FB_IMG_1510380748707.jpg 20160524_112103.jpg

Looks great, Phil. Glad to hear you're moving ahead with it.

  9. Thanks Bob, I'm feeling good and in the garage a couple hrs almost daily, the truck is keeping me busy but don't mind the sidetrack with the J.

Hi Phil. Glad to hear your feeling better. Off to be mounted on the new chassis ? Nice to be at that stage.
When entering your garage, grab your motorcycle helmet. Won't hurt so bad when you walk into the hanging nose...lol.

  12. Doh ! I should have thought of that helmet, probably work better than my hat. It's almost like building the car all over again, once the chassis is under it then hanging front/rear suspensions, motor/trans mounts and steering box mount. Then back here to setup the steering column/linkage and plumbing the brakes and fuel. I will also have to redo the radiator as well, new headers, on and on.

    good to hear.
the j is going to be bad ass, and if you eventually get bored you can swap the blower motor from the truck to the j to get a little bit more HP...lol

  18. There you go, give him more ideas!!:p:D-MIKE

  19. Now you know that's one of the reasons the motor isn't set under the cowl, the blower motor should swap right across. I do think 600 hp in the lightweight J is enough for me right now though, especially with keeping the 4.57 gears.
I loaded it up this morning and now it's nestled in at the chassis shop. This is the last photo of the poor abused stock front suspension and frame, good riddance ! 20160503_111120.jpg 20160503_122045.jpg

Bad Moon should look killer when done, you will need those wheelie bars...

  21. Let's hope so, I like the wheelie.

It served you well. Firewall came out great. Did you wind up gas welding it ?

  23. It's not finished welded yet, I was giving it one zap at a time with the mig, then got a talking to by the doctor. He reminded me that the pacemaker is the only thing keeping me alive and I shouldn't be messing around.

If you were closer, I'd be over to weld it up for you and give you a gas welding refresher coarse at the same time. :)

  25. Ha ha, that would work, I really need to get that out and put the mig away. I would need to figure out the guage settings to start with, 4.5 I think or maybe not, it's been a long time.

  26. I stopped by the shop yesterday to make sure the body was loose from the chassis so we could pull it off during our weekly lunch gathering. One thing led to another and we ended up pulling the old chassis out from under it.
This old chassis was rough, even had a crack in the top I wasn't aware of. It'll be nice to get the new one under it for unlimited power potential. ..ha ha ha
