Im looking to buy some new chrome "Chrysler fire power" ons for my 54 331. I see them on ebay. Are these any good or cheap Chinese crap? Looking for stock style ones so I can put the cover on them.

So weres the best place to buy chrome ones?

I never saw any clear ones before. I did see some nice chrome ones on ebay, $170 shipped.

Yes, they are made off-shore. It is my understanding that they do fit ok, but the chrome is what you would expect for that price.

So my best option would be to find a nice set of stock ones and have them rechromed?

Finding some old oem covers that are clean enough to chrome will be your biggest challenge. Expect to pay plenty for anything that nice...
Considering the cost of plating these days, you might be money ahead to buy the 'off-shore' pieces and replace them when the chrome starts looking foul.

I'd rather spend the money on a pair "Made in the U.S.A." finned aluminum covers....

Skip, I was there on Friday. I did see you once in passing, in the expo building. Spoke with Dennis for a few minutes outside the safety inspection building.
Great to hear its running so good. More power than ever?

  13. I'm bringing back this old thread with a fresh picture of the 392 me and Dad are building. Valve covers are from Jr. Thompson.

I haven't posted anything in a very long while, and I know this is an old thread. I picked these up from a good friend and I really wish they could talk, they look like they have had an interesting life

Smoothed '55 301 block with '55 331 heads and the repro chrome ones with a few parts mocked up. Dodge 315 in the '38 with 2g carbs mocked up. I love the scoops from O'Brien Truckers-reminds me of 60s boat engines.
