  2. I'd have to go with the fastback. I've seen a "Corvette Nomad" and the hardtop looks like the later models where the option was offered. The Fastback is definitely one of a kind.

  3. Either the Nomad or Corvair, love both bodystyles!

  5. When I read the title of this post, before I even read the post, I immediately thought of the Vette-nomad.

I'd have to go with the Nomad, but I am a Nomad fanatic. The Nomad-Corvette conversions I've seen have mostly been out of proportion, with roof lines that were too tall and awkward. I'd love to see the original one in person.

  7. The Corvair in a heartbeat- one of my all-time favorite body styles!

  8. I like this one I think someone is producing them now but they are way out of my league. I still like the Nomad version best. ;)

I looked at a Nomad-Corvette 'conversion' at an outdoor Concours D'Elegance at Stanford University in '86, the Nomad roof was grafted on with expertise...
but the roof was steel...made for a kinda 'top-heavy' unit.
Beautiful job, but only skin deep.

I had an Accu-Tune shop at the time, and all Accu-Tune stations were required to attend. Laughable.
Stanford University should stick to 'Liberal Arts'...

Nomad or fastback for me. But honestly, how could you loose on any? The only regret is that you have to leave the other three on the table.

Corvair. Nomad is neat but if I need wagon room I'd go full size, which look nicer to me anyway.

Fastback for me, but I'm definitely biased from owning a '64 Coupe for 20+ years.

My friend Zane from my hometown of Brillion Wisconsin built this one which was shown in the Corvette museum and very nearly got swallowed up by the sinkhole a couple years ago. It's very well done and based on real Corvette and Nomad/Safari parts, was meant to be a more correct reproduction as opposed to the many street rod versions which were done.

I got to see it getting built in-progress, it's quite well engineered. Here's his website describing it.

    Waldorf Nomad for me too.

  17. The Corvair has been one of my favorite concepts of all time since I first saw pictures of it. Saw the replica of it at the Corvette Museum and fell in love again. I made my psycho ex take a picture of me in front of it, just wish it wasn't so blurry. If I win the lottery I'm having someone build me a replica.

Although a bullet proof shield raising out of the fastback would be a bit ironic on a car made out of plastic, Jive-Bomber pinned it with his comparison to the DB-5.

  22. If I picked one, would I be considered a "Corvette Guy" and be forced to wear one of those hideous satin jackets? :D

All joking aside, I'd take the "Corvair Fastback" concept.

I have 7 vettes, 56 is the oldest, for years I didn't care for the 53-55 but as I get older I'm mellowing on the first ones, but If i got one I'd try to find a roached one and do a fastback

I like the Corvair but I have to go with the Nomad because my first car was a 55 Nomad.
