Projects De-street rodding a '34 Ford Coupe.

  1. I have been a big fan of all your previous builds, your '39 and '34 were knockouts. I know you went all out on those and it will be interesting to see what you can do/how far you can get on a budget half-a-build.

Here is the world famous Flamedabone exhaust tube steering column.

And the mock-up of the dash/gauges. The car came with an old chrome glovebox door, so I made a gauge panel out of aluminum to kind of match it. Should look bitchn when the dash is shiny black.

I really think flamed A-bone owes us "open-minded" rodders an apology for trashing Pontiac motors. MUST be the water ! ! ! Have a good start o far, .....A-bone.

I have built 16 hot rods from total basket case to running, driving, finished hot rods. 14 of them had early Pontiac engines. This little car came with a candy assed Chevvy between the framerails so its staying. Fear not, I still have 4 early Pontiacs on the floor of the shop and one is slated to be the World Dominating Pontiac Engine Of Doom that will power the new Model A. Stay tuned, the new Model A engine will be a fucking monster, I promise.

Reminds me of my A coupe-MII front end, IRS in the back, built in the 90s, purple with yellow frame and suspension. But it has fenders and I have some black paint to cover it all. Really like all the metal work you did. Being lazy, I would've left the TPI. But I'm lazy. Do you have another engine in mind for the car? It looks and is so much better after your work.

Bonzie run around the block to see if the motor and trannny are staying. The little motor runs pretty good for a Chevvie and the transmission did what transmissions are supposed to do, so I'm keeping them.

Random outside shots. Don't mind the goofy primer pattern.

  20. I love a good ol' clean it up and make it right build. Great job! Now if I could only find a dorky '32 4dr with a wicked chop for cheap for the mrs. to go with my dorky Merc....

  21. Great to see it's a running, driving car. You always build so much faster than I do. My 34 got a new driveshaft this week...yawn.

Nice work on the firewall. I remember those extreme setbacks; I always figured it was due to a bead roller fetish.

Nothing real interesting to add today. Got the engine out to finish the firewall. This is the time to kick this little Chevvie to the curb and toss a big ol Pontiac in there, but I'm not gonna.

2 inch exhaust has to go.

    Nice work! Love your builds.
Firewall looks great. I think I'll do the same with mine.
Our 5/w's could be Sister cars. Similar chop, filled roof, same big block firewall, green/gray DP-40 primer, SBC,
    I beam........
