Hot Rods suspicious 33 hood

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flatordead, Apr 21, 2016.

  1. Got this with a pile of other parts. But it doesn't fit a Ford 33/34 passenger car. Is it Lincoln or Ford truck or custom made or what is it??? Paint seems original.

Very similar to a 34 pass. car hood, Radiator cap area and 2 handles. Curved louvers look like 33? You might add the length of top, (center hinge) and belt line to aid in IDing it.

Truck, car hood the front edge lays back at the same angle as the louvers. Back edge of the top extends on this, the car doesn't,your side bead looks different too.[IMG]

  4. It's not a truck hood and a 33 Ford passenger car hood has a single handle. HRP

Gotta be 35 and up too, trucks don't have the same cowl as car. But the overhang on the hood is strange,35 trucks don't have that. Delivery type unit? Wait a minute just saw you're in Germany,it's gonna be completely different than mine.

Not a '35 pickup hood. Side curtain louvers get shorter in the middle to make room for the V8 logo in a '35 pickup.

    Rheinland Ford?

  11. Gotta be a European 34 ford part....in America the 33 has curved louvers with 1 hood handle. 34s have straight louvers with 2 handles. The hood in the photo has a combination of 2 handles with curved louvers....

Might even be a Hupmobile hood. (Hup used Ford body sheet metal that year)

Not regular American Ford. Maybe Euro?

  14. Thanks so far. I did take some measures and it seems to be quite bigger than a Ford V8 hood.
Belt line is to fat too I think
Need to say most other parts off that pile where model B/V8 mechanical parts. Bild15.jpg Bild16.jpg Bild17.jpg

  15. I did wrong the belt line is just 2" wide at the cowl, not 4".

Could be off a GAZ m1. Ford sold model A and 33 ford tooling and parts to russia in the 1930s

  17. Not really the GAZ M1 has a smaller, straight beltline.
