Nick... great color on a bitching car...

  3. Your car and the story of it is one of the most epic things i've seen on the HAMB.
It has continually gotten better, and logged BIG miles on it all along.
I saw a picture on IG from the LSRU,that said it was your car in paint.
I was like, what, wait, when did that happen?
Now that I read the story, it's as right as can be.
Congrats man, What a great HotRod!!!

  7. WOW!! That is one bitchin' roadster.
What a great color! The pics have sort of a blue-green mix on my screen, is that right?
    Thanks for the mix proportions.

This car is one of the best ongoing builds on the board. It looked great at the Roundup Nick! Glad to see it, you, and kudos for driving the wheels off of that thing.

I'm not really a roadster guy, and that color wouldn't be in my wheel house for much of anything. Still, every time i see your car in pictures I have to stare at for a short time longer than most others. The only thing I'd be inclined to change is the registration becuase it looks so right and just different enough to be refreshing. Very nice, really looks good in one color too. Good for you...

I have always loved your car. Perfect rake - just super sporty looking. Looks even better now! You've almost inspired me to paint mine - almost!

There's something about this color that makes it look different in every photo. In person it's more of a deep blue with a slight grey hue to it.

I have over 30k miles on them now. The fronts wear a little more on the outside line of tread due to the camber of the axle, so I had them reversed on the wheels. Still lots of tread left on them and I imagine I'll get at least 50k miles total out of them. The rears probably have another 5k miles left in them, depending on how hard I drive the car. They break loose fairly easy... sure is fun!
I am very happy with the tires and will be replacing them with the same when the time comes. Fronts will be 5.00x16 instead of the current 5.50x16.
Also, I had started with bias ply tires and the radials made a HUGE difference in how well the car rides and drives.

That color is great! If you don't mind, I'm going to steal your formula if I ever get a slick '60s Ford PU again! FWIW I think the 5.50s up front look perfect.

Good looking little roaster. I have to mention something though; your excitement and everyone's congrats is proof in my book anyway that colour/ paint is something a true rodder wanted back in the day as soon as he could afford it. I don't buy the BS about primer cars that stay on primer forever, ("nah, I'm not going to paint it!") being authentic or old school. If a car is in primer until it will be painted that's fine but don't make up history. However, to each his own but don't misrepresent the facts. Getting back to your car I really like the fact you didn't do the base/clear routine.
