This is gonna be my first attempt at doing something like this. Anyone have any pictures I can use as reference? Or pointers from someone who has done it.... most the pictures I have found on line haven't been that good Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Though not actually Plymouth lights, the 'Golden Galleon' had a similar look, and is one of my all-time favorites.
I didn't know how to find his thread, but by coincidence, IROC100 just bumped his build thread. (Maybe he saw this thread? ) Great looking Plymouth lights, on a Buick. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/another-buick-barn-find-and-build-we-hope.975689/
Hi!! Would you sale the originals? Would work great for my 52 someone fiberglassed so junk lights!! Thanks
Back in about 1961 I had a '53 Plymouth convertible. I was working part time at a body shop and we had a few salvage vehicles round back. One was a '55 Plymouth and I decided to put the taillights on my '53. It didn't occur to me to use sections of the '55 quarter panels, I just used the lights and bezels and formed sheet metal panels to extend the '53 quarters. They turned out great......unfortunately, the '53 had terminal rust issues that soon became apparent. Wish I still had pics of the taillight work...but they too are long gone. I think the Plymouth lamps look good on your Chevy. Ray
I was just looking at your build....kinda wish I hadn't because now I want an olds dash lmao Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I ended up jacking up the stock bucket, but I would sell the lights just shoot me a pm and make me an offer Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks everyone for the compliments, this is a first for me with any serious body mod. Everything I have don't before has been small stuff. Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks good! Thanks for the confidence you passed on without knowing you were doing it. I'm about to attack my first serious body mods too. Oddly enough, one of the mods I have in mind is a similar taillight treatment on a Volvo Amazon. This thread has given me a couple options for potential parts sources, though I suspect the Volvo is about 3/4 size in every dimension compared to any fifties American car. Fit may be tricky for me.
You would be surprised what you can find with enough research Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm curious where your rhd username comes from I'm guessing you drive something besides a 55 Plymouth?. One of my projects is a London Taxi with right hand drive. I'm a lover of Brit cars, as well as Swedes.
Need thicker metal but I wanted to see if it would look ok Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Still needs some body work but it's starting to look like something Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Now comes the fun part, getting the second one to match! It is mind boggling how many ways they can misalign, and so hard to see until the paint goes on!
