There are no yaks involved in this story. Maybe 3 weeks ago my buddy went up past where the pavement ends to buy some 70's Honda bike parts and he sent me a cell phone pic of some old junk he spotted. It sure looked like a '35 3 window Ford. I flipped out and he got coy. I finally got him to take me up there yesterday to find it. It's way up in the woods. I wandered down the driveway shouting hello and hoping it wasn't a shoot shovel and shut up kind of place. The owners were great people, about to move, and eager to lighten their load. They're also trying to finish their '70 Road Runner so money was appreciated. Look what I got!!!!

I haven't even unloaded the crap that's inside it yet. I don't even know what the floors look like. I'm going to have to do a '35 5 window purge to make room.

Great score. Isn't that a 36? The hood at least?

  4. You are one fortunate person!!!!! Man, that thing looks really solid. Appears to be a '36 hood but who cares. A three window, wow. If I found one I'd be talked into building it and I'm not crazy about 35/36 stuff. But hey, congrats, great find and even better to be able to actually buy it. They very well could have run you off. You owe your buddy. Tim

Its an early '35 with a '36 hood. They cut the inner fenders to clear a '36 grille too. There's also a bad '35 hood in it and some '36 rear fenders. The driver's garnish molding is missing, the floors are rough, and someone torch cut the lower driver's door hinge. The front vent is welded shut, but it looks like it wasn't cut out. The top is butchered. Subrails seem ok. I've been working on a '35 5 window that I'm going to purge because I think 3 windows are cooler! I'm really happy and lucky.

Very cool! Nice to save this one from oblivion - what your plan for a build?

I've had an evolving '35 project that started as a Tudor humpback, then I found a 5 window body, and now this. The plan is 283, T10, bronco 9", 4" dropped '35 axle by Oakie Joe, round backs, and F1 brakes. Steel wheels, and 6.00/7.50 whitewalls. Now as a 3 window.

Some of the first words out of the guy's mouth were "I had to buy 11 cars to get that one." I figured I was out of luck. He showed me pics later. Of those 11 35-36 cars, 3 were 3 windows. "I traded this one for a Vette 327 that I put in my Chevy truck..." He'd sold or traded my car twice before to people who didn't pay up and he had to take it back. I got really lucky. Really nice guy too.
