Pushed her on out to do some garage adjustments. Here's some 20' pics I can't get in the garage.

 

I love your tin work, it looks awesome. How about putting a poncho motor in there?

 

Holy shit, I was looking at the first pictures previous "repairs" beginning of thread, look's like they where using a 110v mig, with a 100' extension cord, an ran out of argon! Damn! Great job on your build..

6 pieces later we got a tunnel hump. That steering wheel is an eyesore. But it'll be changed

When I saw the first pics of this car, the first thought I had was that those welds look like smallpox. It turned my stomach. I'm glad you are rescuing this car.

I wonder, given your last 3D rendering, if it would not have been easier to just make all new panels?

yes, it would have been but i truly had no idea what i was doing with metal when i started. still dont, just figuring it out.

Not the biggest fan of the column but my stepdad wants tilt... CNC milled some firewall brackets and welded her in. It's super solid

 

Started on the decklid inner structure

 

Steerings done, decklid built but I hate the way it fits so off to the trash it goes

 

Happens to me all the time too. Finish a piece, not happy with it so send it to the junk pile. I suppose it's all part of learning the art of metal shaping.

Spending 10 hrs trying to save it & then trashing it plus the 10 extra hours. When that the redo part takes 20 mins to fall into place it all balances out

 

Shipping the chassis back to my stepdad to finish while I finish the body and start bodywork. Won't be too too long for him now.

Wow again... You probably don't realize this but you have raised the bar on early GM hot rods to an all new level. I have built my car probably 100 x in my head, then I want to punch myself in the face because even in my dreams, my stuff doesn't come close to the quality that you have done...
