Scott the shaker isn't going together as fast as it did last year with the new family member. And 3 1/2 months to get -r- done, there is still a lot of work to do.

Jeff the Skairlaine is looking good, cant wait to see that bad boy run.

Don't worry Bob,it will get done.
All the worst, most miserable, dirty, gritty, itch crap got done last year,so the stuff this year is mostly gravy by comparison.Things should go ok now that I'm back at it,and the motor is almost ready to drop in.
As a bonus,I have my slightly older look-alike/fabrication partner/jack of all automotive trades available for an almost unlimited amount of time this year, because some work he expected to be called out for has suddenly been cancelled.
So while I'm out of town working myself silly,he can be tidying up some of the details on the ol hot rod:)

I just hope he doesn't try to take it for any "test drives" before I get back, because an inline shifter+pro-shifted trans that doesn't like downshifts+my Dad=Scattered parts and flaring tempers....lol

Somebody posted a photo I've never seen of the Eastgate Ford B/FX Falcon from back in the day.
While the Zettle Bros Pontiac,Art's Sour Grape, and Malcolm Durham's "Strip Blazer" Chevelle started me down the road of wanting to letter my car like an old race car, this is the car that put me over the edge.
I added a little gold leaf to the blue oval logo like the Dick Loehr "Stampede" funny car I've always loved, and we were in business.

In case you're wondering, this car was destroyed in a crash while racing in the Gas classes a little later.

I'm guessing they were running a NASCAR or AHRA event by the XS designation in the window.

Nice pic Scott. Your lettering turned out great on the car, too bad you didn't have better taste in cars and picked a Pontiac. Oh wait , I have a Ford also, never mind. LOL

    I'd like to run a Pontiac,but they are expensive,Man!
And with the way this economy is,we had to lay off the Butler a while back,so you know, times are tough.
We don't eat Beef Wellington but once a week no more,so I can't hardly be drivin' them high fallutin Poncho's when children are starvin' in Africa and such....;)

I guess I'll just do what I can with the ol Ford for now:)

I am looking forward to seeing your Pontiac again, though, and the Falcon too. That one should be a handful!:)

I forgot, Canada couldn't get the real deal Pontiacs so they turned their Chevy's into ones. It helps that we have a friend that has a pile (two farms) worth of Pontiac cars and parts.

We really did get some oddball "Pontiacs" up here:
    Acadian Canso (Chevy II)
Beaumont (Chevelle with Pontiac grille and dash and Chevy motors).

But we still had the legit GTOs with big burly Pontiac 389,400 and 445ci motors. That always baffled me.

In all honesty,I have always wanted a black on black 65 GTO.I saw one years ago that just had so much style and presence,it was gorgeous and intimidating all at the same time.:)

Some vintage footage to help get the juices flowing. Even an occasional Bronco!
