  4. Easiest way to get rid of the honey do lists is to get rid of the honey! I got more car time, more car junk, and no more "I think we (meaning you) need to rip all the yard up and redo all the plants and paint the bathroom and redo the counter tops and ........." Not for everyone I know, but my self and my 2 boys have tons more play time now!!!

We're still working on it but things are painfully slow right now. These brakes are kicking my ass!

Somebody got some lakes for xmas, I decided to mock them up for a photo the other week. I'd really love to know if anybody out there with a Buick nailhead in their project, has equipped it with the new large Stromberg 97's? And if so what the result was. I know they are sold already set up and jetted with the SBC 350 in mind, so I'm hoping my 364 Nailhead isn't so different size wise. I'd really love to run 3 of them on top of a Weiand intake. Just don't know if they would work straight out the box. Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. image.jpg

Just building my drivetrain. Another order of parts this week to Goatroper and Van Pelts. Picking up parts from a couple of other places Saturday. Thought I had a body last week but the deal kinda' came apart at the seams. I should just throw this shit in a T Bucket and drive it...... In short, progress is a piece at a time. But I do have a pile of cool stuff together.

  14. progress is slow motion on mine. do a little each day. Got the mc mounted and decided to run the lines thru the fw to keep them from the obvious place. Looks cleaner imho. Now working on the cowl steering and prepping the 50 dash.

  15. I'm pretty sure the planet will run out of gas before I get my car on the road. Glaciers move faster than my project. I work so slow I should get a job in government.

I was poking along on the Steelback last week, few hours a night, then an electrical related feature popped up. That was enough to kill any interest for a while, I'll pick up an unrelated piece to work on next. Bob

It's getting there. A battery, fuel lines and a little wiring and I should be able to drive around the block.

There are several carb specialists in the Hambodex, why not contact one or more of them and pick their brains? Chances are good they'll have what you need to get you started. I'd recommend Dick York at Dick's Hot Rod Carbs. He knows his shit and if you buy from him his pricing is more than reasonable.

Mine is coming along slowly. I have the sheet metal for the catwalk and surround done, then I will finishing up the chop. Since my brother doesn't like to get dirty, I have been finishing my mom's 58 Impala. I have been driving 6 hours to go work on it for three days at a time. All of her suspension is rebuilt, motor, trans and driveline done, just have to put seats back in and finish wiring. Once that is done we can get the engine, trans in and hopefuly be able to drive.

Spent yesterday in the garage, but unfortunately had to spend it working on my DD, not what I wanted to be doing. Removed the drivers side spring perch and broken shackle. Today I have to get the passenger side perch and shackle off, then get the new replacements installed. Maybe next week I can get back to my '37.

  27. Started, officially. Got most of the bumper bolts off, should be able to get the bumper and splash apron off this weekend and maybe pop the hood to see what's in there.

This is the "before" shot, the bumper guards and most of the bumper bolts are gone now:

All my junk is creeping forward. Been working the bugs out of my "new" '56 Chevy 210 so it can be my DD. I went thru the brakes, redid some fuel lines, wiring and put on new wheels and tires. Got the front hubs re-drilled and mounted magnesium Halibrands and Americans on my Austin. The Americans had holes all over 'em that had to be welded up. It's running and drivable, and with the new wheels it's ready for Eagle Field, just needs washing.
Got the Minilites on my wife's Corvair, it'll be ready for the Corvair show later this month. I even had the old blue '55 F100 interior re-done, should be ready to pick up any day.
All that, and I neglected the one on the top of the "Priority list", my '40 Willys pickup needs the cab and front end painted so I can put it back together and make some space in the shop. I was set to get after it when the rains came, then other stuff got in the way. I can always find reasons to procrastinate when there's bodywork and paint to be done!
