    Whatever happened to those guys(and the car) in post [HASHTAG]#419[/HASHTAG] above? They were in about every magazine in the country in the early 90's. I think they were out of Texas.

    Tell me if there is a better place or I need to start a different thread for this.

    But can you reverse eye a stock spring on these cars without notching the frame rail? I'm trying to fix a bad lowering job by replacing the shoddy homemade long shackles with stock length shackles and a reversed spring. But the car is all together and I don't really want to tear it apart to do frame work right now.

    You won't have to notch the frame if you reverse the spring and or take out a few leaves. After doing more than that, you'd end up flattening the crossmember, if you still have the banjo with the transverse spring.

    I like these chubbies best on a very low rake, and that one definitely has that goin' on.

    It is supposed to get a extremely busy paint job, canted quads and nerf bars in the future, cause I love the WRONG TRENDS.

    Gene DID a few '46 convertibles. In fact, he did one for John Gimelli (San Jose, CA)
    Gene was driving it to Paso Robles to deliver it to Gimelli, and a truck driver rear ended the Custom, stove in the trunk and rear fenders about 2 feet!
    Car still ran, and Gene delivered it at the Paso Robles restaurant. There was some verbage... LOL
    Gene also did some '50 (? maybe '51) Mercs in 'glass, when he was in Canoga Park.

    I believe so. It was a real fun car, totally changed my opinion on this era of coupes.

  24. Oops! Get that Chevy gasser over to the appropriate thread Mr. Steele! :D Lotsa nice samples there 'tho!! Little tougher to get the roofline nice on the short doors - I like the ones you've included!
