My 56 shortly after I bought it in 66 it was a dead stocker this is what it looked like in 67 this is what it looked like when found on E Bay 20 years after it was sold and I painted it darker blue the new owner said he wants to do it in my original 66 Vet blue
I'm going to make it a good driver, I'm going to pull the body off the frame soon and clean it up and paint, stock 350 Chevy with 700R4 trans, 3:70 posi rear. The Grand kids and I will take lots of rides.
Happy Easter! We took our Nomad to Easter Sunrise Service today. Ours is a everyday driver. but a lot of fun. Ron...
I've had a few '56s over the years too, a 150, two 210s, but the sedan delivery and my Nomad stayed around the longest. They just feel like home when I'm behind the wheel. I just picked this one up a few months ago. Just getting started making it mine. The vision is for it to be red with black steel wheels, white walls and baby moons. Under the hood will be a 350/350 combo dressed up like a 340 HP 327 w/Corvette ram horns. So far so good, just fixing a few little quirks but it's a good driver. .
In the 80s, my dads first car. Same car in 2010 when I got ahold of it. And now, my 56 hardtop slowly on its way to being a nice mild custom. It's a side project.
I've never owned a 56, so can't show a shot of my own but I can't believe this one hasn't been submitted yet, it is one of the most gorgeous 56's I have ever seen. Edit The colors were (described) as "candy yellow and off white pearl".
In my personal opinion, the 1956 Chevrolet is the best car ever produced by Chevrolet. I've only had TEN of them over the years. If I knew how to post pics I would put up a few of mine. CarNut.Com is a good site for photos of just about any car you'd like to see many of. LOTS of 56 Chevrolet's to look at. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
