  2. I hope you guys can help with this request:
Before we start, I should say, its not your average Willys, I have a 48 willys truck and the vision I have in my head is a 60's drag truck.
Here is what I did already and what I need to see with photoshop to see if it even comes close to what I see in my head.
I took a 48 willys truck cab and chopped it 6". I removed the rear window full size to put back in.
I then sectioned the truck 12" out of the center. I removed the cowl vent before and re-installed it full sized. I dont want a rat and I dont want a typical open fendered, no hood hot rod, I want to mimic the early willys drag trucks.
I would like to see what a narrowed early willys coupe or truck hood and fenders would look like on this mini willys I have in my head. I am making the bed approx. 4' long and narrowed 10".
Maybe I'm asking to early and should wait to take pictures with the bed and cab, pie crusts with flat fenders over them etc etc on the new frame.
and oh yeah, I know it looks like poop right now, just takes a vision and a bunch of time.
    click pictures to make larger.

Thanks James that gives an even better idea of how to go about it, looks like I'm looking for a Somerset now, just don't tell the wife, not just yet anyhow, let me get some paint on the 38 first.

  5. heck of an effort..thanks for that...buuuut.. was thinking more of the 40 willys front end and round flat rear fenders and my chopped and narrowed cab,
let me find a picture of a 40 willys gasser truck, thats what im going for via working with what I have. I did find a 38 willys front end on here for sale I am thinking of grabbing up and slicing and dicing. was kinda hoping to see what it would look like before I bought the front stuff.

Love this picture taken by a fellow HAMBer ('58-'60 Thunderbird w/'59-'60 GM roof)...

Can someone put a '58 Cadillac front bumper/grill on it?

  8. No worries. i'll work up a proper side view somewhen if I can find a decent photo. Should give you a scaleable reference and a better idea.

  9. Here's a quick rendering of what you might end up with...

There was an Austin A40 Somerset Coupé, which was actually a convertible built by Carbodies of Coventry, buily from late 1952-54 or so. Now, try to find one!

  15. Yeah, I discovered pictures of these last night. Wish they´d made a few more and rustproofed them a bit better!
Even a pair of doors off one would be a good start. I think I´d feel pretty bad welding a hardtop onto one.
Have a look for the Austin Atlantic too.

  16. Wheel Idea.JPG Would someone photoshop these wheels onto my 62 Vette 62Vette Resize.jpg

    20160325_155537.jpg hey fellas.
I've always wanted to see my Plymouth in a really obnoxious candy red. Could someone help me with that?
    Thanks in advance.

Dont know that I like the caddy bumper that much better for the effort it would take but I do like that top.

There's just something about the stock '58-'60 front bumper that just looks "added on" to me. Still thinking through what could be done about that, and since I don't yet actually own a '58-'60 Thunderbird, I have plenty of time to figure it out.

I do agree with the top, however. Think I might have to try and pull that off!

True, but the stock bumper just looks too "tacked on" for me.

I wonder about doing a front using '58-'62 Corvette grill trim and bumpers.
