Yeah, my bad.. didn't mention this before, we replaced the firewall with the flat one before we really started to dig into building the car, even before I took the body off and started to un-rat rod it lol. I did that so I could get the motor to fit (car had a smallblock chevy in it before the ford I put in). The ford motor is longer than the chevy. I found the firewall at a swap meet actually, Some guy makes them, bare metal. It gave me the exact dimensions to get the ford motor mounted. With that being said, we tried flipping the original one, and it just wasn't worth it with the way it came out. So we decided to go this route. By the way, thanks for the compliment! Personally, I'm not a huge fan of rat rods lol

Battery mounted to the rear body brace

Kill switch and air compressor mounted to the rear body brace. I plan on building a small motorcycle trailer to haul my Harley behind my coupe, so I mounted two small air bags, hidden in front of the rearend housing.




Made the kill switch bracket out of 10ga steel

 

Push bar is made.







I fabricated this piece out of 3/16" and drilled some holes to make it look cool, even though it's going to be another hidden detail. It welds to the pipe the push bar goes into and welds to the rear crossmember.

Started on the floor, used oak wood for these pieces.

 

Trunk floor is in, made out of 16ga steel, also welded a stamped brace on the bottom side.





Cut out an access door to the battery in the trunk. Welded a hinge and a latch to it so it'll hinge open and close.

 

Nicely done. Is the latch military?

Please more info on that battery cover latch, what was the source, how does it work? I need something like that for my master cylinder access door.

Not sure what it's from. The first picture is the latched closed and the second is the latch opened.

 

Made seat stands and mounted the seat. Seats out of a dodge caravan.
