Great thread. Enjoyed the pics. Love the curves on the 58s.
One thing I have never liked is scallops, but the 58 body style seems to take the pattern real good.

1958.jpg My mom's 58 that my brother and I are trying to get finished. This was my Dad's car that he drove everywhere. It's going back together with a 327 and a turbo 350, but is mostly original, will go back to stock color whe we finish it. Sorry about the crappy pic.

Crappy pictures are better than no pictures, thanks for sharing it with us and good of you and your brother for building it for your Mom, I'm sure she will appreciate and enjoy it.

  7. This is a 58 Impala custom from the central N.Y. area.

I have seen the car around for about ten years, but never been able to catch up with the owner. IMG_1176.JPG IMG_1177.JPG IMG_1178.JPG IMG_1179.JPG IMG_1180.JPG

Thanks for sharing the pics, but it actually looks like a Belair, not an Impala. I could be wrong about that, but it is missing some features of the Impala and would be surprised if they were removed during the process of customizing it.

  10. I think you are right, I always assumed it was an Impala because it's a hard top.

I never really noticed the side trim, also the car does not have a Impala steering wheel.

I finally got around to putting the new quarter on my brother's wagon. He backed into a pole several years ago, going way too fast. One of these days we'll get around to painting the car.

This 58 used to belong to a friend of mine Joe Keller. It has to be my all time favorite 58 Chevy painted by a young Bob Taylor. It was white with candy green panels. florida trip 2011 Destin, waterfront (22).jpg

Had a lot of fun with this 58. Several years ago it went to the Rome, Utica area of New York and I have not seen or heard about it since.

Happy to see so many pictures added during my absence, been in the hospital recovering from some major complications from the surgery removing my stomach (gastric cancer). Now that I'm home and getting better I'm trying to get caught up with life.
