  1. Thank you for the great information I was 2 yrs old when that was going that is why don't remember the dragster and Tulsa was a place my dad would race sometimes I will have to tell my mom that because she couldn't remember where in Arizona they went to race sometimes . My dad probably helped Larry build the dragster

The Greer. Black and Prudhomme fueler was retired in late 1964.

The "Greer, Black and Prudhomme" rail was featured on the cover of "Hot Rod Magazine" in the November of 1962 issue. This issue was a milestone for the magazine as this was the first issue that had color photos inside the magazine.
The GBP car was so gorgeous that it was one of the few color photos inside as well as on the cover.

If I remember correctly, Ken Scott was from Selma, AL, ran a hot rod shop there...later went to an inline twin?

  11. Interesting that Tom's photo is dated APR 66. It's pretty well documented that they broke up G-B-P at the end of 64. This photo was said to be '64 and looks like moments after Tom's photo

Tom must have waited 2 years to print those pics :)

  15. That was my point! He must have waited two years (or reprinted them)

The place Cathy goes now does not print a date ;)

  25. I have another mystery car . I know my Mom is pretty and Yogi is cute but I would like to know about the pretty purple altered in the back ground with the #88 on it that my Dad drove because I have a black and white pic with him driving it . It was sitting in our driveway in Burbank and have no idea why and the pic is worn My mom can't remember some of those details over 40 yrs ago but she did say Hartwell she is not sure and my Dad may heave had a white helmet on that was later painted the purple the Yogi helmet[IMG]

And that ChiZler was sold to Charlie Proite before labor day of 1964.

  29. Again, the purple Austin roadster was built, and run by Ed Taylor of Pomona. Don't know who bought it when Ed sold it to build his A/Comp roadster, but I know that he kept the blown Olds for the new car. The new owner(s) installed Hemi power.
