Yup. Depends on what your idea of fun is. Look..... it's a crazy cool chop. Insane. I get it, but for ME, in my city, there's no way it would be fun to drive.

Now, on the flip side, I drove a T Bucket looking over the windshield. Practical? Fuck no, man. Fun? Hell yea. I'm not down grading your ride or saying you shouldn't do it your way. All I'm saying is, in MY world, peeping out of a box at 95mph +, just wouldn't work.

Have fun. Seriously. Build it the best you can because it's your deal. That's what counts. But in Houston, you'd need one of those dash mount prisms to see the traffic lights.;)

  7. Looks awesome. Love a hard chop. Its all about how you set it up. My Buddie has an unchopped 31 sedan that's channeled 4 inches with a heavy rake, and I can't see shit out of it. But it's not set up for me its set for him and he can see just fine.

Geesh all these dudes busten your balls but I bet they all jerk off to the road trip threads of the rolling bones giys driving there heaps across the country.

Sometimes I wonder if I missed the memo that every second Sunday is ford barn members sign into the hamb day lol.

Car looks tough I dig it, and I agree it's all in how the car/seats etc are set up. I've driven cars with heavy chops and seen better out of them than brand new cars off the dealership floor.

Got a link to the rest of the build?

Bein' able to see is as much about the rake as the chop. With heavy chop and mild - if any - rake you'll be able to see, it'll help if you get the visor holes in the right place too. esp when driven those little hillocks on some roads.
To me it is a question of proportion, Hilton did a fairly heavy chop and added about an 1 1/2" or so in a 'reversed' section on the body. That gave back the head room by raising the window sills and the proportions were just right.

I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading on the HAMB lately. Too much chop?!?! That car is perfect.

This is not a restoration site. This is not a street rod site. Move on if you don't like real hot rods from the heyday. Thank you

With some planning, and using a perimeter (32) frame, you can drop the floor to the bottom of the frame. You can then put the bucket seats between the 32 rails and the driveshaft tunnel. You just have to figure out the position of the center crossmembers, rear suspension (wishbones), master cylinder (swing pedals), and the seating all at the same time. Doing that will help seeing out of the windshield, and make it way more comfortable to drive.
Here is a pic of a friends A, with a dropped floor.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I used to rock a K I L L E R mullet. I was getting a haircut one day and the chick with the scissors suggested a drastic chop. In a moment of weakness and sobriety I concurred. While I still listen to Zepp and Floyd I do it under a do that's tight and right...just like your lid. Party on OP!!
