Hello , wow bring back some memories ! Yes it is a kellison . it started out as a whole Street car then the guys took a fiberglass mold off the original car back in the late 60 s . I know this car from my childhood . my older brother worked on ,and raced with the hobo team. He was the president of the Nashville dragsters club in the sixties. I would like to know if there any more pictures out there ,and I would like to talk to any one that knows about the hobo . I have a photo some where in fiftie years worth of pic s .I will upload as soon as possible .

Now that is a keeper, a very heartwarming shot.
Hope you know that the help you are asking for is a small thing for us to accomplish (given time), maybe not happening as quick as you hope it would, but there are people here that no doubt will come through with info. Keep plugging away, and share your results.
Really hoping the helmet surfaces for your son to have, that's a very special piece.

  15. I need some help and I know it a real long shot it would mean a lot to me and my oldest son .. I'm trying to find my Dads Gary Essman helmet the Yogi Bear helmet it was the only helmet he owned he bought it around 1963 before that he borrowed helmets. My son asked him where it was one day he said i dont know it may have been lost between moves or I got rid of it and he didn't want to talk about it anymore. I know it never came to Tx and it would of been anytime in the last 20 yrs he may have donated it I'm not sure but if would be in Northern California or Vegas area . This is the best pic I have of the helmet that I[IMG] found you can see the Yogi Bear on it when you zoom in . My son would really love to have his Grandpa's helmet. I know it may never be found but worth a shot

Hellacious tire smoke indicates that the Frye brothers’ twin Buicks took an immediate liking to “liquid horsepower” at Indy, though we wonder how long their nailheads survived after the shutter was snapped. The crowd-pleasing combination failed to qualify for a Top Fuel field ultimately topped by Don Garlits.
