Did a search and couldn't find a thread dedicated to just altereds so lets get this started. If someone knows of a thread on the HAMB just for altereds let me know and I will close this one.

To get it started "Pacers Auto" blown hemi A/FD

EDIT: Island Dragway in 1965 according to a pacers member in post 626

EDIT: The pic below it was taken at Etown the day Scott Kalitta died. It is not a restored version. It is the Tribute car, an active racecar, which we now own. My father is the original driver an founder of Valley Stream Pacers which evolved into Pacers Auto with his partner, the late great Charlie Dodge.

Can't let this get too far before we including the MAN who inspires us altered lovers.

I give you Wild Willie in all his glory.. if you don't know him do yourself a favor and search his name for images and you will see why he is considered THE MAN.

Willie doing what he does best .....going sideways One handed!! willie's arm

  14. This thread is a year old and ended up with some cars that could go altered or modified but it is what it is I suppose.

Oh I meant to say thanks for bringing it up there cannot be too many threads specifically for altered as far as I am concerned. They always floated my boat. ;)

Here is a recent thread started by @Roothawg but it pertains more to those building and or maintaining one now:

Ok never heard this about willie something new every day LOL.

    Not my story...................

"The strangest aspect of the Wild Willie legend: his narcolepsy. Childhood friend and crew chief Al “Mousie” Marcellus recalls having to bump Willie’s car to wake him up in the staging lanes and twenty blinks later he was going over 200 down the quarter-mile. His narcolepsy also meant Marcellus frequently had to double check Willie’s mechanical work on the cars as he often fell asleep in the middle of the work and forgot where he left off."

    Now onto more willie photos.
