image.jpeg So I just bought a set of reproduction Fiesta spinner flipper hubcaps for my '54 Chevy but the three bar spinner won't spin or even move. There are screws on the back holding it together. Is this as simple as loosening the screws? Thanks!!

They aren't called spinners anyhow they are called flippers.

They never did spin like the OT wheels that we see on the ghetto rigs now.

They only spun when the car was moving.

I believe the designers intent was to emulate the look of "spin-on" racing wheels. No they never spun. You could modify them. Be a trendsetter.

I'd love to modify them to make the three bar spin. Any suggestions on achieving that? Sorry for the very noob post, I'm 19 and just recently got my '54 Chevy and starting to learn the car hobby of working on them. Thanks!!

  20. what would make them spin? and when? when they are parked or like a James Bond car?

All the spinning they do is on the way to the gutter as youre driving....those caps are overplayed imho..

  26. ...........................Okay, I gotta give you some credit for bravery for even asking that question. Sometimes us old cats forget what it was like being 19. Welcome to the HAMB. Show us some pics of your '54 and I'm sure there will be a lot of folks willing to offer sincere advice going forward, myself included. But please don't try to modify those wheel covers to make 'em spin, God forbid.:D
