Still here Gary, they are all over now.
One about a mile away from me, pretty good burgers, really good "fresh" shakes during berry season.

  4. As a kid in the local Little League, we used to play ball at a field behind the Elks Club which was behind the Bomber. Going to the Bomber and the attached restaurant was always exciting. Partly because all of our Dad's were WW2 vets, some in B-17's.
There were still B=17's in service as fire bombers and even transport in the 60's. My Dad was in the Forest Service , they operated several 17's for "smoke jumpers", guys that parachuted into the woods to fight fires. Talk about days gone by! IT WAS FANTASTIC!!

    Gary
Did you go to school with any of the Rasmussen's?
A good friend of mine(RIP Terry) who I worked with for nearly 30 years grew up in Milwaukie. He used to talk about having an uncle that owned a P-51.

I'm 61 Gary, and I think Terry was a couple years older, he did have at least one brother and one sister. I do know he went to Milwaukie high school.

I like seeing the big American cars pictured on small European or British streets, in amongst the more mundane local offerings, and it is also nice to see the little English Ford 100E holding it's own amongst the big stuff in the freeway traffic.

I was told they were pretty rare in red too.
