  3. No worries - just hadn't heard of one up for sale in the area in the last little while.

  4. I picked up an original steel dash about a year ago to replace the fiberglass dash that was in the car. The car does not have the tunnel. Is there a vendor that sells an engine turned insert available for the stock dash opening? I've been having trouble find one.

    Thanks in advance.

I made mine from a piece you can get thru speedway. Its just a piece of engine turned sheet metal IMG_0036.JPG IMG_0037.JPG

  8. That insert looks really nice! Wish I had checked on this thread before I bought a few more gauges. Oh well.
The car is back on the ground. Need to paint the rims and add rings and caps, but the car sits probably 5-6 inches lower. The John Deere look is definitely gone. With the rake I really like the uncut roof.

Looks great. I agree no chop with fenders & rake is hard to beat. What size wheel & tire did you go with?

  10. Steve (the great guy I bought the rolling chassis from) selected the tires a long time ago when he was building a highboy.
165-80-15's on the front, 235/75/15's on the back. He chose well!

  11. Wow. Car sits great, roof-line is perfect. Tires look just right and should give you enough ride for our Canadian roads.

  12. Great thread, great read, great car. You went the logical direction switching out the frame, all thumbs up. Hope to see this car at the Reynolds meet some day.

  13. Thanks Dave. Having seen your cars and work, that means a lot.

  14. That's a 50 minute drive. When is the Reynolds meet?

  15. I'm leaning towards no bumpers for the time being.

    That's looking great Al.
As for the Reynolds meet, I don't remember the specific time, I do however remember being extremely disappointed in the number and type of cars in attendance the one time I checked it out.
I walked around and found only one or two cars that I even cared to look at.
Disappointed enough that I won't be back.
    Larry.

  22. June 11th and 12th this year. 2nd week end of June every year.

Only show I know of that parades (optional) the cars starting from oldest to newest, which means you get to hear the cars you normally only see in pictures.

The majority of cars are restorations, but customs and rods are welcome. The museum itself now has a hot rod woody.

  23. A little color on the wheels.

you've done a good job with this, I really like it. Front bumper only can work well if you're thinking bumpers

  27. Haha. No worries. It's staying the way it is......... for now.
