I have alot of documentation and history that came with the car, has been in this barn and never pulled outside since 1976.

Looking for front suspension ideas now, have always built Fords of this era in the past, kind of a new set up to me.

I haven't found any rust, or any signs of a patch panel, pretty sure original paint.

wow, love that patina, What a great find. After 15 years patience paid off.
    Congratulations!

  12. one of the prettiest cars ever built! nothing wrong with that front suspension, just upgrade to the '51 style backing plates. 327 would be perfect!

I hauled it home in an enclosed trailer to preserve the dust, not sure if I can ever bring myself to wash/dust it off, thats somethin you can't reproduce.

Any clues in why it was parked? Be interesting to see if it'd run and drive like it is, steam clean the bottom, engine, detail it well.
327 4 spd is perfect for this car when it comes time to build it.

I love hot rods, also gaining an appreciation for untouched cars. Just my opinion, this is an awesome find, can't wait to see the progress.

You'll have to wash it sooner or later.. If that's the "knee-action" front end, I think you will want to get rid of it.. Could go back to a standard front end( dual leaf and straight axle) or a bolt-in Mustang II.. Sweet find...

The bumpers and stainless running board strip says it's a Master Deluxe. You can see the knee action front end in one of the pics of the car on the lift. I kept the knee action in my '37 Sports Coupe and it gives a LOT better ride than my '37 sedan with the straight axle did.

The knee actions got a bad rap, as they had packing instead of seal and if they packing nuts weren't adjusted regularly, they'd leak. When they ran out of oil they'd ride like crap and break. I took mine apart and machined them for a lip seal and they work great. I like the knee action as I do a lot of touring with the car.

In any event, it's a great find - congratulations !!

Really interested in any info on what front suspension can be used to convert to ifs, rather not put an aftermarket, not because of price just like to keep it traditional build along with safe, and reliable of course.
