Projects My 36 ford project. Or how to ruin a perfectly good car

  1. Double Hell Yeah x2!!

  2. Nice work on this car:)

  3. Its alive! I made it all the way around the block twice and nothing caught on fire or fell off. Still have a ton to go but it's getting there. Been whittling away a little things. Did some modifications to the top and replaced my top header. I brought the side profile down about an inch and a half I think it flows little bit better. I'm looking for a 37 to 39 steering wheel. apparently all the suppliers in are out of stock of the re-popped ones. 6. Thanks man. I'm sure you will be less than impressed with my mediocre skills. But with any luck I will make it.

  8. Playing with my upholstery last few days. Got my foam cut out. Not a traditional style. But I have a bad back so it's got to do. This week I hope to get it all glued together and finish shaped. Congratulations. I'm sure your outside doghouse is heated and quite cozy.:D
Seriously, congratulations on having a supportive better half. I'm sure that you appreciate that support just as much as the rest of us that enjoy a similar circumstance.
Sometimes, for me, keeping that support involves some chocolate.;)
Also I sometimes address some home maintenance/enhancement issues but am always careful NOT to do too good a job... if I get too good, my list might grow considerably!
I am certainly enjoying your build and continue to be amazed at all you have done and continue to do... and so well!
I'm always glad to see another 36 back on the road but I've got to say that yours certainly overcame many more obstacles that most. ATTABOY!:)
    Keep workin'
    Al

BITCHEN THREAD....maybe one day i will get one of my 36's on the road....

  13. I'm currently working on my upholstery. I got my foam all shaped and glued up. Took over the dining room and set up shop. Did a few test projects to get the feel of the new machine. Had to figure out how to make piping. I'm trying to do a traditional styled design but still keep it interesting. I got the bottom of the seat done. Hopefully going to finish the seat this week. So I got my seat done. It was about a million times harder than I thought it would be. But done. I haven't decided what to do with the aluminum trim. Either polish or wrap with fabric.

Great job, I once thought it wouldn't be too bad to recover the seat in my wife's Brookwood and after I spent the afternoon taking the old covers off I sent it out to the upholster, there was no way I could do it or wanted to. Like everything else on your build "outstanding"!

  19. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1458702828.796449.jpg well I finally got it in one color of primer. yes it's black. not very creative. But it's definitely temporary. my painter decided he was gonna get divorced in the middle of my project. So it's going be on hold for a while. Got most of my upholstery done. just now starting to reassemble. I'm two weeks from lone star so I'm really pushing to get together. I'll post some more pictures once I get it assembled.

  23. And we're to believe this is your first attempt at upholstery work? If that's the case,
would like to reserve a spot on your poor wife's dining room table!
Great work, man; keep crankin' for the show....

And well there you go. I personally think it looks a little bit better with the doors being longer than stock. I'm by no means 100% satisfied with the work but It is now roadworthy. The fit and finish is complete crap as it was thrown together. Still have to upholster my top and do something with the bumpers. but as it sits this is how it's going to lone star. See you guys there. Feel free to come by and criticize my horrible craftsmanship.

Pretty damn bitchin, way cooler than a sedan. I like them too, but come on.....not much beats a roadster. You should be proud, most dudes would NEVER attempt that.

I've followed your build from the beginning and was dazed and amazed all the way following your journey, one that I might add I don't have the stones to take. You made one hell of hot rod man.
