I care how seeing my car makes other people feel. I love it when someone walks up to me at the gas station grinning ear to ear. It's symbiotic, the way other people feel about my car and the way I feel. Mutual happiness. Despite this, I suppose you're right that it is the owner's own opinion about it that matters at the end of the day -- if someone else doesn't like my car, or worse, couldn't care less about my car, I'm not going to lose sleep about it -- but it is pretty cool when I can share my excitement with some other total stranger sitting at a stoplight, at a show, or wherever. The point of this thread was anti-homogeny. I really didn't expect a counterpoint, and I meant no offense. I suppose the lesson is to never underestimate the internets.

So many stories with blanks to fill. Having photos and even the subject matter helps till the other pieces surface if they ever do. Lots of stuff out there.

I just looked at your album... like you need to worry about homogenized hot rods. Holy cow. Your designs may have just inspired by current project.

Nice thread and I specially appreciate the cool built cars with a special personal touch to the regular formula.

Here's my traditional -32 grille shell hot rod. :D
1928 on 1932, 59AB flathead, -39 gear box and -40 rear axle and brakes etc... I think I find it on the hot rod parking lot, anyway. :)

Ok what the hell am I seeing on the open wheel roadster parked next to the pickup? It looks like some sort of beat up tow bar stick thing that ties in to the roadster steering, are my eyes fooling me?

Refueling like jets...good eye. Probably an innovative towbar as you say. Not very safe but...no slack...then again what the heck do I know...maybe it worked great. It seems to have a ball pin to the frame and you're right looks like a bracket connected to the steering on right side. This is one of these unique things that get lost and then gets revived in conversation through clever observation.

That tow bar is connected to a ball on the frame, A little minimal but I am sure it worked! Gary

Probably so the steering WON"T move, when I use a tow bar I usually tie the steering wheel,
To me is looks like a old tie rod with bad welds in the middle

  23. I freaking love this car!, I have at least 20 pictures of it that I took at Goodguys in charlotte NC years ago, Seems like I remember seeing it there twice and one time it had a mini spare on the back cause one of the dirt trackers went flat. Such a bad ass sinister looking car. It just stood out from the other cars around it as real Hot Rod. One of my favorite A coupes ever.

  26. That coupe is sweet, let me know if you ever want to sell or trade it off, I got a good place next to the roadster for it!

When I first saw this hotrod I thought the same but I can understand the fellow stuck in a modern traffic jam going somewhere watching the gauge inch higher and higher...been there. So for arts sake here ya go.
