The T Bird and 3? car race. Would that be a class race or a grudge race?

I have never heard of drag racing at Moffett Field, but looked it up and found that they did have sports car races there in '53, so why not drag races in '55? And you're right about the blimp hangers, here is another picture of Moffett that shows them clearly....good call!

Good question, I would guess that it is either a grudge race or possibly for "little eliminator,"

Looks to be either 6 flags in Victoria, Tx. or the navy runway at Rodd field in Corpus Christi, Tx. in the pics with the hangar in the background.

I am thinking that you are correct. I seem to remember the same hanger in the background of some other photos that were posted earlier in this thread and definitely identified as Texas. The blimp hanger in your later post is a round top and the one in the photo in question is a regular flat top deal.

Re: "ID below picture, Is Pappy Hartman the same guy whose daughter Rhonda and son Richard ran fuel cars?". Nope, Rhonda and Richard's dad (Virgil) grew up in Indiana and then lived in California before relocating to South Carolina around the turn of the century.

Pappy Hartman was the "Blown Pontiac" Guru, of the Northwest in the 60's. He built the engine for Tip Angel & Mike Grim's, 180 mph AA/D, his roadster ran over 150 on gas.
