She doesn't really have a story.. I've always wanted to build a 55 and now I get my chance! I helped my boyfriend work on his 1948 ford a little bit and wanted to do my own!
It belongs here and you can't be half bad since you have some Arkansas in you. lol You do know that grease is not a fingernail polish color. Great avatar pic. We need youngsters on this site because it gives all the old timers a breath of fresh air. Welcome!!!
Welcome, there is a lot of knowledge here. I am partial to these truck, there are lots of others too. Good luck on the project keep us posted. Don't talk about frame swaps, mustang 2s or ls motors (threads go south that way)
It belongs on here, just as long as you don't put 22's and funky graphics. FYI: Your truck is called a "Task Force" which continued up to 1959. In 1955, there were 2 Chevy truck models. The early 55 is a AD, a carryover from the previous design. The Task Force was mid year introduction.
Lots of potential there.I always liked those trucks, havent owned one in a long time. You will find that truck is a good choice due to being easy to work on and generally easy to get parts for. ( not to mention being cool).
where did you find it, have all of the main body parts? you know that we love pics - so, keep us up to date as you make progress on it
I don't have a name for her yet but I'm sure that will come in due time! And the front and rear end are out of a 77 nova and I'm putting a 350 sb in it with a 280 cam. I like em loud so we will see how it sounds
How do you know he is gentle man, isn't gentleman. Lol. I follow your boyfriends build and I expect this to be just as good. What's under the hood? What drivetrain? 235 and 3 speed colum shifter? Will you go three pedals or two?
The tablet I'm on was being stubborn earlier. Lol. It's a 350sb with a 280 cam and probably a turbo 350 and two pedals for this project lol
You got to give us a little more... Colors, interior and what kinds of wheels? What's your vision? More pics too! This doesn't mean you'll be done tomorrow. I have a plan on mine for 5 years. I still haven't painted yet, same with wheels and interior I have a plan but no progress. Let me get you started...
All both of those are Kool! I'll be uploading more pics and I haven't gotten a real idea of what I want yet!
I'm a big fan of the front turn signal delete on these trucks a subtle custom touch that not many people pick up on we did it on my brothers 55 and u have to usually point it out or people don't even notice
For those who don't know me (Or remember me) Let me introduce myself! Crazyhorses Boyfriend! Been awhile since I've been on here. I lost the info to my old account so I had to start a new one.. Some my recognize me from the build on the 48 posted above! The story on this truck is pretty neat if you ask me...... It all started back when I was 15... (5 years ago haha) Some one in the car community here where I'm from had told me about a field of dreams! The 48 I was building had a cab that was dented up pretty rough! So one day I went down there and bought a cab from the field of dreams... While there I found a beautiful 55 chevy truck in surprisingly good shape! forgotten threw the years.. Later in life (5 years later haha) My beautiful girlfriend set out on the hunt for a 55 Chevy.. Looking but finding only highly priced trucks that were in terrible shape.. Then I remembered the field of dreams (forgetting all the things I had seen but remembering there were a ton of cars) so I made a call, and me and her went down to go look for a project. She fell in love with the same truck I remember from so many years back! So we got a price for the truck! She was determined to buy it! Saving money left and right! Well this made me very proud, so one weekend I may have told a couple lies to said girlfriend.... Hours later showing up with her dream truck on the back of a trailer! Her face made the lying and time and effort of getting the truck all worth while! So, sorry for the long post! But that's my story! maybe she will post a picture of how the truck arrived to her on the trailer
i will post more once my phone turns back on we decided to minimize the work with the fiberglass filled front finders to just Dented ones with the grill
I think the 55-56 grill is the best looking grill ever. I know it is a lot of work but well wort it in the end. Mine took 3.5 years to complete. Look at my build thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...00-is-finished-lots-of-build-pictures.934604/
