Features Who's Building a T?

So why bother telling us ? Should we care

 

My 26 Coupe was a bare shell when I got it. I have accumulated garnish moldings, etc. I also am interested in this issue, so T-guys, please help (with photos, if available).

Also, if anyone knows of a good restoration book, with illustrations, that might be appropriate, I am sure that I and others would be interested.

 

The question was, Anyone still building a T? My answer was yes!
As far as pictures, I'll put one out there, if it stays or not remains to be seen.

 

If you lost the huge rear tires it would be better. And I don't personally care for the headers.

 

It may not be 100% friendly here but I like it, well most of if it. Its yours so enjoy it. JW

Well, I joined this thread way back on page 6, now it is upto page 52.
Just goes to show popular these T's are.

I got a question and I'd like any feed back from those using their T hot rods.
The T hot rod when running a stock grille shell, hence small sized radiator.
How well do these small sized radiators cool more modern engines say SBC or SBF for example???
I know I see bigger blocked engines being used as well and it kinder amazes me how they cool???

Currently I am building a 26/27 T 5 window pickup.
Not much to show right now but here is a pic of the body which has been made out of a T coupe.

 

What about the ts in the backgrount? Are you T-zing us?

Back to my original question about radiators anybody???

 

I'm running a 454 with no issues on the road but if you get caught in traffic for an extended period she will cook a bit. The few times it happened I just shut her down for a minute or two and let the 12" fan run.
I'm expecting the problem to disappear with the new 14" fan and shroud I'm putting together for it.
My rad is a T specific 4 core copper core...but I've seen T style Aluminum rads advertised that should handle the heat even better.
I can't imagine a small block having any issues at all with those.

The other guy even went to the trouble of keeping his full fendered.
I am going cycle fenders and Cadillac flathead powered.

 

I run a65 mustang radiator with sbf. No problems. It fits in the t shell fine

 

Yes so do I. Every auto parts store carry them & still cheap. Mine was 139.99 + tax I think.

 

Wow! Very cool but that's one hell of a chop. Lose the top of the windshield frame by relacing it with 1" square tubing or you'll be at the chiropractor weekly. Luv it!

 

I have a deuce shell in my coupe that's cut down 6" so it's about the same size as a T rad. I had Supoerior Rad in Detroit build an aluminum rad for it and it cools my 400" SBC just fine. Those motors have a bad rep for heating because they have Siamese bores.

 

Just heard from my buddies that my coupe made Hot Rod Magazines list of top traditional rods for 2015. Pretty cool. Pic is from last year's Detroit Autorama with the London Ontario ELTA guys.

Yes we will be bringing the windshield opening up about three inches and have a model a visor for it that looks pretty sweet!

 

I'll play, 70's style Cotton Werksman style, building the metal box now.

Mine is still a largely incomplete pile of parts. I have a 26 RPU body, a Model A bed, a complete 38 Ford front axle and suspension, I'll be running a Packard flathead straight 8. I'm working a deal on a Model A frame and a mid 40's banjo rear. Hope to get a rolling chassis together over the summer

Hi, guys... My '27 hiboy roadster (Poliform body, ASC rails) awaits wife and me to finish up crossmembers. (steel '27 tub is sitting atop the frame jig, everything stacked up while it's raining!)
Bead blasting small parts, making brackets. Hate this CA. weather, although we NEED the rain... Meanwhile... Thank God for the HAMB!
