Thanks @Chris for posting some pics of my old 58. Here a few more. I hope to find a 57 soon. Too bad these things are usually so rusty. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452198181.653193.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452198237.175183.jpg

  3. Yes, I loved yours.

And yes, they are usually really rusty. One reason I've always wanted one and never did. The 58 I got is very, very dry...has a few pin holes in a couple places but original paint and very strait/solid.

Your Ranchero looks really solid Chris. What are your plans?

These things need just a few adjustments to make them killer! Heres a photo of the Ranchero thats been burned into my head. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452200361.747422.jpg

  5. YES! That is killer.

I'd love to paint mine a light blue, the interior needs redone so blue/white or two tone blue. I have a set of 55-56 Royal Lancer caps for it, I want to give it a slight nose down rake, and also have a set of torque thrust on back up. A very mild custom/hot rod. And I love it's an FE, in a perfect world, I would love to build a mean FE and put a stout 5 speed behind it.

For years I didn't care for these Fords but they have grown on me,especially the post cars with the shorter wheelbase.
Really don't see that many in the Midwest, rust problems as I remember. There is a Rancharo running around with an Edsel front clip I see from time to time that will get your attention.

Ha I wasn't around yet! Good guess on cousins, I think it was two of my sisters, one brother and a cousin in the car.

Somebody's got to have a shot of Tuck's Ranchero. That things killer....
My 13 year old is wanting too start a car project of some sort. So far he's between an early Mustang, an air bagged ranger pickup, and a 57 Ranchero. quite a eclectic group!

I saw these at Midnight Mass a couple years ago, yeah, I know the 2nd one's a '59, but the 6 carbed FE has gotta cut it some slack no? 2014 vacay (169)_opt.jpg 2014 vacay (150)_opt.jpg

  18. Chris..check out www.57fordsforever.com Everything you need to know about '57 fords including a list of '57 ford specific parts and service vendors. Of course almost everything that applies to a '57 also applies to a '58.
This is mine, almost done after 10 years. I got to drive it around the neighborhhod for the first time last month.
Most of it is OT for the Hamb, or at least the interior and drivetrain.
I asked Moose to photoshop finish it for me to get the reide height correct and add some ghost flames. Other than that, this is what she looks like now. I also just posted this on the California Rake thread. This is my first ever build and I'm proud to say no one but me has ever touched this car. The first one to do anything to it will be on the flames if I decide to go that route.
