  3. DDDenny,

funny to find an old image of this one, it is still alive. i've seen it in summer '15 in a car museum on the swedish westcoast. the "Futurecar" was homebuilt (and finished in '51) by a swedish sportspilot named Sigvard Berggren from Boras, Sweden. it weights 2 tons and was powered by a Ford Flathead V8.

here it is in its actual condition:

and a happy new year to all! Carsten

  4. Great example of size comparison between an American vs European cars.
This was taken in Paris, 1950s.

I see here (in the Netherlands) sometimes American cars from 1970s, it is insane how big they are compared to "our" cars. They hardly fit on the road, haha.

  10. This photo shows the site of the Log Cabin Restaurant in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The original structure was built by Paul Bartels for his sister, Marie in 1921. Before electrical power was available in the evening hours, the restaurant used oil lamps at the tables. The restaurant sold ice cream sodas, milk shakes, and sundaes for 15 cents, and banana splits were 35 cents. Later the building was demolished and replaced by the current Morris Fireside Restaurant.

When that Scotch reflective tape came out in the early 50's, people were putting it on everything, even this '52 Lincoln got the treatment!

I do remember AB Smith. It's one of the few Chev dealers in Portland I didn't work for.
