Art & Inspiration How about a 1957-1958 Ford thread?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Jan 6, 2016.

  1. I did a search and did not see anything. So how about hot rodded, custom or race inspired 1957-1958 Ford cars, wagons and Rancheros? I know there's gotta be a few out there. And if there is already a thread on the subject, let me know!!!

  2. Yes why not! The 1957 Ford is one of my favorite cars from the 1950's! I built this 1957 Ranchero for my older brother Sondre. It's a tribute of Jerry DeVito's "The Maze". It was my graduation exam, and took 1997 hours to complete from start to finish.

Why do 58 Rancheros have 57 tail lights ? Or, am I wrong ?

You are correct. Only Ford can say why, but I'm curious if anyone has adapted a 58 wagon tailgate to a Ranchero to get the 58 lights.

  9. Wow no getting past you guys. Yeah I bought a 58 ranchero...wanted one since forever. But later on that, let's see some more pics

Here's my wagon. 292 with FMX. Had it since 1999. P1010038.JPG

  11. Ford didn't fit the '58 wagon tailgate to the Ranchero because it was too easy to knock the protruding inner lenses off when the gate was down, like if you were backing up to the load. The gate is a bolt-on, but grafting the ends of the '58 quarters/lights on isn't....

  22. This thread is off to a great start. Here's some ones I collected as of lately image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.png image.png image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

  23. Here is the one I'll be dragging home later this month. I'd love to paint it Robbin egg blue, I have a set of 55-56 Royal lancer caps for it and I'd also like to have a set of 5 spokes for it to swap on time to time. Will get a tonneau cover as well. It's a 300 horse 352 car...

  24. This car is a carbon copy of a car I had for about a month back in the early 70's before I was rear ended. HRP

  28. A lot of these cars are dumped pretty low in the front. Is it just cut coils, or is there a better way to lower them?
