This yellow and green car is about to be auctioned, just read an article about it. It kind of made fun or the paint job. I think it's kind of cool, certainly would leave it if I owned it.

The author of that article isn't quite up to par on writing about Corvettes. I too would just give it a sympathetic cleaning and leave it as is. He also thinks if you drop the gas tank you'd find a build sheet on that '65, they didn't do that until '67.

The other interesting thing is that car sold in Napolean, Ohio; very near where BigRob's fathers car was, Cleveland, at about the same time.

Both cars look very similar, but my dad's was a hardtop. Crazy paint schemes were popular and should be expected from the 70s. Ron Krol painted his car and many others including '64 vette called Banzai. More pictures to come!

Yes, Terry Michaelis claims it was one of the first Corvettes he painted and sold.

Thanks BigRob! That is totally awesome! I am currently converting a '63 Roadster to a Gasser & am modeling it after the Banzai car. Would love any info or pics of the car you might have.

Anytime! We're going to meet up with Krol this weekend and I'll try to get some info about it. BanzaiVetteBa1970Dragway42photobyToddWingerter.jpg

No luck, but these pics may help. Should be easy to install.

It's an easy install. Just sandwiches between shifter body and mounting plate using the two mounting bolts.
The original Hurst kit comes with two slightly longer mounting bolts to compensate for the increased width of the loc/out. There was also a piece of foil tape to keep dirt, gravel, etc., out of the trapezoid center hole. Thing just slides up and down preventing the pin in the hurst shifter to move when trying to pull the lever over in the reverse gate.

  13. Yankin the wheezy 283 for a hot 327 around 1986. Not numbers matching but it wouldn't have mattered anyway, who cares!

I believe that's a 56 that belongs to a Hamb member from the San Francisco area.

I wonder if someone could trace that plate to see who it was registered to in California. It might help you unravel the history.

Baron those don't like the pictures in your avatar, parachute is on now and mounted the release lever by the shifter, kinda looks like it was an option in the day, chassis shop did a great job with the mount.

Car looks great. Mount looks nice and neat. They did a nice job on the roll cage
too. Are you still driving it on the street ? The 67 Chevelle looks pretty serious too.

Was told that plate was bought at the same swap meet in L A the car was but wasn't on the car when bought. Wish it were that easy. Thanks elgringo71.
