I want a time machine and a load of cash, STAT!
My 1956 Desoto UTE could be one of those on the back of the trucks? Either way it is being restored now. Would be nice to have a Desoto flatbed truck to haul it with like the lead truck in the convoy.

It's an EJ Holden sedan - made from 1962 to 63 by General Motors-Holden. Last car to be built with the original Holden 6 cylinder 'grey' motor. The succeeding 'red' six came in 63 in the EH Holden which ran from 1963 to 65. The basic body for the EJ and EH were very similar, with the front doors and front sheetmetal interchangeable. The panels from the B-pillars backwards changed.
My first car was an EJ Holden with a red six changed into it.
Shame I don't have a photo of it - I thought it was pretty cool back in the day.
    Cheers.

Images taken from photo albums of family of childless couple who passed in the late 70's. The albums were passed to our family. Reviewing these images and others in the album was an incredible look into nearly 90 years of a family's life. I'm sharing those with vintage auto's from "day's gone by".

Now that's pretty funny - Man of a Thousand Faces (about Lon Chaney, whose greatest roles were all in disguise) next door to Mask and Gown (a female impersonator revue starring T.C. Jones). This would date this series of photos somewhere from mid-September to mid-October 1957.

Great set, kb - any idea on the make of that slope-tailed roadster in the first two images?

  15. With that Rolls-Royce style radiator shell, I would guess it is a Roamer. Maybe about a 1922 1923-Roamer.jpg or so. Here is a 1923....
