My grille guess are 32 Buick or Cad.

  4. How about some east coast builds 39 Ford Truck grills-

@Pete Flaven's Chevy Coupe I always liked this car.

Thats a nice twist. The 39 truck grill. Theres about twenty years of parts you can put on these things that can set them apart. When you start putting digital gauges and pontiac fiero steering columns in it looks a little gaudy in my opinion. Theres enough swap meet parts that can be fitted to a car to set it apart without making it look too far out or too plain. Saw a guy with an old porcelin door knob on the floor shift in his 49 ford. Looked cool.

I think this thread has morphed into something different.....

I understood it as: not your typical car, maybe a recipe that uses tasteful elements or parts from other manufactures, not over the top... Outside the box or envelope,,,, but simple, less complex but yet eye grabbing?? Yes... No?

Not a jeepster with an F1 grill and slicks or a model A coupe with a Cummings diesel.... Or a frame dragging T roadster with SBC above the cowl and 24" wire wheels...

I personally love the back yard builds, cars that are constructed with no special tools, steel plate cut by hand and shaped with files....cars with soul, hand made grill shells that look good, super wide track noses on cars that have no business wearing them.... But it works and looks the part...

Ok, so let's all agree to build them, drive them, tweak them, drive then, break them fix them, drive them and love them. Hey, just another thought as to why there's so many different beers out there now.

Mine is a 27 Chevy roadster. To me its still a hot rod built to my liking. Right rear in my avatar.

  11. That's what made carnival side shows so popular. Everyone loves a freak show. There is a fine line that separates the sublime from the ridiculous. ;)

Thanks those wheels are just smooth.

It's not about the HAMB acceptance! It's a simple request for cars that are not run of the mill '32 roadsters.......

We always must consider the sites bottom line HAMB friendly first then have fun. I think it is in respect to the Ones who gave us the opportunity.

  23. As with many of the older generation I built my car MY way. I have owned it for 42 years and it has been changed a few times.
It is most defiantly not a Traditional or cookie cutter type Hot Rod.

I am sure he was inspired by the Lloyd Bakan coupe and if I'm not mistaken it is a new build from up this way. Yeah it has those radial things (they are getting more palatable) but yeah...nice and just a little bit different.

Haha, those are great pics and little books.

Lots of cool "off the beaten path" cars that still have charm.
