Here's my '40 Ford sedan when I got it from a field for $100 in 2001, and today... Just goes to show you can do anything with a little elbow grease! And then after I fixed the radiator height and added the front nerf...
wow! are you serious? how much for s pound of that elbow grease? congrats that's a sweet looking ride...
My dad used his 1956 Corvette as a delivery "truck" for Speedometer and Alternator Service from the mid 60's to the late 70's much to the disgust of the Corvette purists around town. We had a contract with Fort Carson to rebuild all of the military starter and alternators from to tanks to duce and a half's. He would fill the trunk and stack starters in the passenger side of the Vette while every on just shook their heads. The Corvette was retired and sat in the garage from the 80's till 2013 when I finally put together some cash after selling my favorite 62 GMC hot rod truck. We have around 5 to 10 hot rod guys who hang out at my friend Charlie's garage on Saturdays to shoot the bull and work on each others cars. We hauled it over and spent the summer getting her back on the road. Charlie dated my sister in high school and always loved Busters Corvette. I couldn't have done it with out these guys it was a great summer. I didn't have the enough cash to get her painted professionally so body work was completed and we shot her in color matched sealer, she's always been a driver so I'm cool with that. If it gets scratched no big deal, touch up with some more sealer. The grand kids can climb in and on and just have fun.
Yes sir! I got it when I was 14, I learned metalwork, bodywork, upholstery... Everything on that car. I built that car $100-200 at a time while going through high school and college. I'm happy with the result! As far as the elbow grease goes... It's free if you look deep enough in the barrel.
