That's a huge score on those wheels. Nice truck, I hope you enjoy the hell out of it. Something about an old as-is runner that nearly defies words.

That 'head in the grill' certainly trumps those damn 'cry-baby' cruise in props.
    Real cool truck.

    Any pics of the interior?
When you do the axle don't forget the headlight bar. I hope the mirror falls off too. The bed and wheels are just too cool for school.
@Jeff34 aught to think your trucks are cousins.

to be honest, I don't like artillery wheels...they will be up for sale. I'm gonna use wire wheels...I got 16's, 17's, and 18's...decisions, decisions

Run the same as Mr. @Dennis Lacy did on his truck, they are perfect.

  9. Great looking old pickup. That bed must weigh a lot, looks like she squats pretty good. I wouldn't change it too much...

You have GOT to be kidding me! I didn't think he was too far off with his price as it was. Man- now I've moved past hating you and I'm just sick. That's the second '32 Ford truck in the last 3 months I've saw on Craigslist in our general area, both of them good deals. If I had not have gotten stupid and bought that OT Corvette last year, I'd have been able to move on one...

You might not be the only one.

I like artillery wheels, from mid 30s chevy.
But I don't like the ones on Larry's pick up.

So have you talked to the guy who widend the wheels for Mr. Lazy?

The bed is a modified WWII 1 ton trailer bed commonly called a Benhur trailer, Google wooden benhur trailer images and compare. Sears sold a lot of war surplus, I suspect the farmer purchased a trailer and shortened the body to fit the pickup.

16" steelies are almost the only wheel that gives those trucks the right vibe between worker and hot rod. Looks a little pissed off wearin the right rubber rake with unfinished steelies, no? FWIW, the hubcaps for those jumbos are worth as much as the wheels themselves. I'm sure you wont have em long when you offer em up.

Get a pair of overalls, corn cob pipe, and hat. Leave it alone and have fun. Frank

Sorry danny, just saw your post. The truck is home and I've cleaned the plugs with my black graphite, small spark plug sand blaster...charged the battery...choked it and vroom...well as much as a B motor will vroom.
I wanted to drive it, but there is too much dirt/crud in the filter and carb, and it won't stay running more than 15 seconds...so, I've drained the coolant and sprayed the cylinders down and she' resting quietly until warmer weather comes around.
I have no insulation or heat in the shop...brrrr
oh, and the cat has officially approved it by sleeping on the front seat while I was working on it
