Chopping up this 53 Chevy Sedan. I know, I know it's been done. We are trying to do a few things a little differently, like making new B-pillars from scratch etc.
    Here are some pics: IMG_0053.JPG IMG_9049.JPG IMG_9155.JPG IMG_9214.JPG IMG_9217.jpg IMG_9219.jpg IMG_9228.jpg IMG_9240.jpg IMG_9244.jpg IMG_9271.JPG IMG_9300.jpg IMG_9301.jpg IMG_9303.JPG

I saw the B-pillars on instagram, looks great. I'm interested in your method of making them, could you tell me about it?

  5. I like where you're going with this, and the custom '55 tail lights.

Yeah, of course! It's made from 2 pieces. 1 piece is the radius of the window opening that is stretched at the top and bottom. The other piece is the door jam and front of the B-pillar. There's a weld right through the center, vertically on the outside. The inner structure of the B-pillar got welded and reinforced before the skin got put on. Hope that helps!
Feel free to stop by the shop sometime since we're not too far from Hollywood Hotrods. That Mulholland Speedster is a real work of art. Congrats on that!
    Thanks, I will.
    Thanks Jeff!
Thank you! Yeah, those lights look great they were done by Radford Customs up in Santa Maria. We're just doing the chop.
Thanks! The 58 Ranchero shop truck in this pic, the 47 Pontiac & 2 others are ours. The other 8 are customers cars.
The 47 Pontiac is my daily driver but it will be coming off the road while Clark & I are chop and section it (leaving the rust in the dust).

Here are some more pics of this chop:

Me tig welding up some visor holes on the front. Clark figuring out the radius for the B-pillar. B-pillar progress shots. 2 pieces of the new B-pillar Clark tig welded through the center, vertically on the outside. New B-pillar next to old B-pillar. The new B-pillar ready to have Clark tig weld it in. IMG_9312.PNG IMG_9315.JPG IMG_9329.jpg IMG_9351.jpg IMG_9352.jpg IMG_9353.jpg IMG_9364.jpg IMG_9379.jpg IMG_9382.JPG

    Thank you! clarkgilliecustoms
    Thank you so much!
Thanks, cutting down the 53 Chevy windshield. We didn't do the tail lights. They were done previously by Radford Customs in Santa Maria. We're only doing the chop on this car.
    Thanks Bob!

Thanks! Yes, I do. You won't see us complaining about being busy! We are very grateful! I'm glad you like the B-pillars. Clark did a nice job on those. Thanks again!

    More pics:
C-pillars are made. Now we need to make the sail panels and the window frame.

Glad you just laid the rear window , I'm not a fan of seeing window moved off the belt line where in creates an un even picture around the belt line
