Ok I'm going to take another wack at this blue color , in previous posts I've seen the color on the BT roadster called 1936 Washington Blue, but I swear it's a "bluer" color than WB. Does anyone have a modern paint code for the paint used on this actual car? I know this is needle in a hay stack stuff. Is Mr Bishop still on the HAMB? Thanks anyways guys.

Don't know about Bishop, but Keith Tardel and Ryan hang out here a lot.

Could have been shot over black as opposed to a white base.

Bishop/Tardel book does not mention the color they used so must be custom PPG.

  10. Gearhead, I have the paint code in my shop will send it to later this evening. That is BC/CC.

  11. The one thing I found out when researching this colour a few years ago from some restoration sites is apparently Ford sprayed it over a red oxide primer which changes the colour quite a bit.

Mr Bishop's Hamb handle is "av8".
"Mr" adds a nice touch of respect doesn't it?

  13. You can always PM him. He responded to a thread not too long ago, maybe a month?. He's still here.

Thanks guys for your responses, great info here. I think my best bet is to take a custom color mix that's close and add / subtract from there.

  15. Check out my 3 window build page as it is PPG WB that is shot over red primer. We did add more black and removed a little of the white from the formula so it is some what a custom mix. Looks BLACK under low light and WASHINGTON BLUE in the sun light.
