    Few updates,,,,
I've been studying that clean looking front end. Think I got it.
Not sure the pushrod will come off the perch, I may set up a bracket on the top of the wishbone

Nonetheless, I'm going with an inboard coi lover set up. Found some larger, original ford light ( as oppose to the China imported Dietz replica I already bought) and mounted it from a pitman arm I found that had a bend in it. Now to duplicate another one ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446604689.030085.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446604718.511074.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446604748.942948.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1446604760.549754.jpg

Sometimes it seems like it would be so much easier to just be a Street Rodder

Like I told you Lowcoe, 5 steps back!!!

Now with the lower stance, I'm redoing the slot in the frame for the Pitman arm, so my drag link is level and I can reset my wishbone mount

    Looking for some feedback....
Here is a look at the rear end suspension I put together. With sway bar and panhard bar.

Things are tacked in. My key concern is that functionally it will all work. Cosmetically I will clean it up a bit

Everything is in square and true. Based on all I've studied, it should work

But would just appreciate constructive criticism

    Good day ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1449500771.022795.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1449500783.994215.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1449500803.987471.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1449500819.495132.jpg

If you run a rear antiroll bar ( sway bar to some) you need to run one of equal or greater rate on the front to keep the rear of the car from trying to pass the nose!..great build, outstanding fab skill...thanks for posting!

Mr King, Thank you for the input and please excuse my ignorance. Can you explain, why the effect of a rear sway bar and no front sway bar will affect the car like you say? I don't understand the "rear...trying to pass the nose"

    Thanks again

Really nice workmanship and vision 36 Vick! ...on the antirollbar "sway bar" issue the end of the car with more roll resistance will break loose and slide laterally first...look at it like this, when the body attempts to roll the antirollbar attempts to push down on the outside tire and pick up on the inside tire when the end with less roll resistance is less likely to attempt to lift the inside tire therefore in an aggressive cornering situation with only a rear antirollbar the front tires will adhere better than the rear tires causing the car to "spin out " ( the rear passes the nose) ..that is why most America cars have a stronger front antirollbar than the rear...if you had a antirollbar on each end of close to equal rate both ends control body roll and " balance front to rear is achieved

Anyone ever stop and say to themselves, "Self, what exactly did you get yourself into?"

Well, I am. A blessing and a curse have occurred at the same time for me. My project was moving along and I had called an old acquaintance from some years back for simple advice now and then. Now this acquaintance happen to build the AMBR 2004 winner and has built many other fabulous projects over the last 40 years.

Long story short, he is living at my place now and teaching me so many ways to further what little skills I have. This man, Mr Larry Ruth is helping me to define and build the car I have been envisioning. NO, he is not a hired hand to build my car. I can't afford that, nor is it my nature to have someone build a car for me. The true nature is that he is showing me 40 years of experience. Teaching me proper ways to weld, work metal and tackle a project, so I can build my car to the best of my ability

He has even shown me ways of grinding that make the project that much better

The BLESSING is the kind, teaching nature of Larry, the CURSE, my project went back to ground zero. ( as in, rebuild it so the car is not within a degree of level, but .00 of level, front to back

    So here we go...

PS my wonderful wife surprised me with a Lincoln TIG for Christmas
And the English wheel is under construction

Just a suggestion, but instead of black, have you thought of mixing a dark dark dark green that's almost black?? Philly the Greek posted a '32 that is the sort of colour I am thinking of a while back. I would seriously consider painting the whole car that colour, I think it would work well. I think I saved the photo, will try to find it later today.

Heres the photo in question, to go with your engine colour, you would want a yellower cast to the base colour, this has a blue cast, but you get the idea.

Started a rough mock up template of the new wheel opening. Still sometime away from creating the wheel opening, BUT this will allow to place the body on the frame, so we can continue with the chassis build

]If this is THE Larry Ruth, his credentials came waaay before 2004.[/B]

His credentials do go waaaay back, for sure. But for sake of not using up to much data uploading his resume, I thought I'd keep it simple!!!

I really like that suggestion. The down side to being so far away from paint, is I may be changing the color all together. But if I don't, I will roll with that idea Thank you

  27. Definitely the way to go - will legitamize the look for the car right there; more a custom-bodied/coachbuilt hot rod than a converted post-'34 highboy with stock rear fender openings.

By the way, any idea on how the rear bustle will be shaped to work with the new wheel openings?

Please excuse my ignorance. Can you explain the "bustle" cut of the car? Is it like the tri tip or ribeye?

Steve, please learn me something. What do you refer to as the rear bustle? I'm eager to learn

    -Levi

  30. Wiki - A bustle is a type of framework used to expand the fullness or support the drapery of the back of a woman's dress, occurring predominantly in the mid-to-late 19th century. Bustles were worn under the skirt in the back, just below the waist, to keep the skirt from dragging.
