When I was in my teens [ 1950s] an building my first hotrod, there were two things I could aford to do,drill sexy holes in my parts and polish hell out of anything that I could get to shine. I built a lot of cars over the years with the same plan. I still have my first baby and have lots of fun driving her around.

Here's the inside of my coupe. This used to be a model-a tudor. All of the holes are belled by useing dimple dies.

Wouldn't "more" equal less when it comes to holes?

Not that many holes, but under the box is riddled with holes though.
Just installed this 41 LHD box with rhd internals on a historic pre war built New Zealand race car. Had a flattie originally but it was upgraded to a 331 in the late 50's

I'm building a Sports Rod using a '25 T body. Trying to save weight anywhere I can. Engine mounts, radiator/grille shell mount, batwings, steering box mount and even added some to an old Superior steering wheel I'm using! I'm sure there will be more lightness added as I get further along.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Here's some more drilled stuff, fueltank brackets and some belled holes on the inside of the trunk. The plan is the get these brackets chromed.

I'm a member of the, "Throw it in the air. If it comes down it's still too heavy!" school.
This is a Quickchange spool for a project I'm doing called, "An exercise in lightness".
