Great set....Jimmy Vaughan redid "Motorhead Baby" a few years ago, a great version too (performed by a motorhead)

There is a song called Rocket 69 that's very similar to the Buick 59 song. Very good as well. Can't lose with either

My pappy said son, you're going to drive me to drink'in, if you don't stop driv'in that HOT ROD LINCOLN.
A little before my era, but I found this in a stack of my older brothers 45's in the early 60's,(who remembers those).
    I still think it's a cool one.

I always wonder why Jimmy Vaughan changed "Rocket 88" to "Corvette98" in his version of Motorhead Baby. kinda goofy if you ask me.

There is a obscure song titled "Cruisin in Van Nuys". There are 2 versions of the song: Johnny "Zoom" Rossi and the other version is by BJ and the Wheels. I haven't heard either in 35+ years but one of the versions sounds really good. I just don't know which one is the good one.

  12. What are you guys too cool for Beach Boys/Jan & Dean car songs? Or is this a deep tracks B sides only discussion.

Don't lie and say you don't get the chills when they rev that motor at the beginning of 409...

image.jpeg Great post! I'd love to see this one grow some wings. Just plucked this one from the thrift store in Hilo the other day. I'll have to check into how to post tunes... Nice to see Spokane's finest: Charley Ryan on here. Please keep 'em coming , fellow record nerds!

A proto-surf twang fest instrumental from '59...with an unfortunate ending.

Wow, any list that includes a Palladins tune is alright by me! Jive-Bomber, I'm seriously impressed that you included that number, not many folks seem to even know about the Palladins.

If I was doing a top 5 it would have to include:
