  1. I love the Persian lime green!! Those are all awesome colors thanks for sharing!!

  2. They probably make the same color in a modern paint that doesn't have the same problems.

The acrylic lacquer was actually pretty durable but it was not a paint it and forget it paint. you had to keep it protected.

  8. I could not be more in agreement with you on this one. There is just something about old paint that is still solid that floats my boat. Give me an old paint job any day.

Since we're talking about colors, I painted my "OT" 27 years ago w DuPont acrylic lacquer "oasis green metallic". 1972 spec order color, next year it was same code as Chevy trucks thru mid 70's. I mixed a lot of these colors for body shops in the 80's. Flux image.jpeg

Limefire Green Metallic & Kenya Ivory in base coat/clear coat. I used the code off the 1957 Pontiac color chart. Apparently it matches a Ford & VW color from the 70's.

Here's a 57 pontiac color chart to reference the firelime green you mentioned, courtesy of http://www.autocolorlibrary.com.

I agree with GotGas, GM firemist colors are great colors, they look right on older builds with the very fine metallic.
