Not quite a Fairlane, just a custom.

Not much in the way of progress, I'm knee deep in a home renovation so I haven't had time to get back on it. I've put a battery in it and replaced the starter solenoid, but that's about all.

Here's a pic of the bad side, showing the quarter work thus far. Still needs a final trimming then it can be welded up.

So far it looks good. I like how you were able to work with sheet metal from a sedan.

    Zombie thread revival!

Here's my '63 F'lane. 289, 3 speed top loader w/Hurst shifter, Holley 4bbl, Holley intake, Doug's Tri-Y headers. Currently saving my pennies for new "period correct" cheater slicks and front runners. On the back are the steelies from my grandfather's Galaxie.

Who has a photo of a wiper motor on their 62-65 Fairlane? I'd like to know where the ground wire is mounted.

The black wire in this photo I'm guessing is mounted to the firewall, I forgot where it goes. :-/

    Here is a couple pics of my 62. I swapped the 221 and Ford-o-matic for a 1968 289, c4. Lots of work done to the 289, around 325, 350hp. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I noticed a dual reservoir master cylinder, is that for safety or disc brakes?

    Good catch John!
That's for Safety. It's a Maverick Master Cylinder, that cost under $50. brand new. Hooked right up, and I installed the Brake Pressure Switch to a junction block.
No issues with stock Manual Brakes either.

    Here's a close-up...

I added a new line from the front reservoir to a junction block, to the stock brake line and pressure switch.

I thought I would add my mine; 1962 Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe with a 260/4v and a 4-speed....original white with red interior car. This is my current daily, and its surprisingly comfortable to drive. 1962 Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe Ford.jpg 5C7CB338-4919-422F-AB2C-ACFA19E45FD7.jpeg
