Looks familiar, Did you get it off someone on here?

 

I don't think the guy I bought it from is on here. I think it changed hands a couple times after the initial build.

 

Great looking car. Who ever did the chop did a good job getting the lines on it right.

 

I agree. It is exactly how I would want to have done it. I love the car!

 

Car looks good with the chop and ride height. Previous builder did a good job on both of those.

Great looking car! Can you do us a favor and take a couple of photos and give a description of the C10 trailing arm rear suspension? I know of three companies that make a trailing arm kit for the 49-54 chevy (Jimenez Brothers, No Limit Engineering, and Classic Performance Parts) but they use a custom made crossmember and shorter trailing arms than the stock C10s. This would be very helpful to a lot of do-it-yourself guys.

Ordered the Walton Fabrication firewall mount booster pedal, a Wilwood combo valve/proportioning valve and a black powder coated 8" dual diaphragm booster today. The power brakes will be a welcome improvement to what's already been done.

Took the car on a short drive today.

 

Hey there SLO that is one hell of a starting place, and the perfect car for a Watson outlined Panel paint job

Maybe a curved chrome trim strip on the front sides, would be spot on period correct

What color are you going to paint it ?

My high school buddy had one just like that and one week end we put in a cam & twice carbs on the inline 6 , and thought we were hot stuff going to school on Monday with a little more power and cool exhaust sounds

 

I'm pretty sure I want to paint it black.

Just got this guy wired in. Have one on the Harley. Works great. About $43 on eBay. Much better than buying batteries all the damn time.

What size tires are you running on her?

 

What kind of shocks are you running in the rear? Great looking car.

 

A buddy gave me a great deal on a '94 Caprice yesterday. Going to use the LT1, transmission, steering column and whatever else I can out of the donor car. I'll save the 327/th400 setup for a future project. I really want EFI in this car.

 

The shocks say Ridetech on them..

 

Please refrain from putting that steering column in this car.

 

Elaborate. A quick glance it appeared to be a simple GM tilt column with key and shifter.

I'm not keeping the Genie shifter in the car. It's an accident waiting to happen. I had been thinking a column shift would keep things simple. I've seen similar setups in lots of customs and thought it looked good...

 

Yea, a GM tilt column and is going to look like shit. There is nothing wrong with a Genie shifter. Adjust it properly and you'll have no issues.
There is no tilt column that will ever look better than the stock column.
